This Year's Model Updates:

BMW has seen fit to give the sedans and wagons a facelift for 2002. An in-dash CD player finally makes it onto the standard features list. The center stack has been altered to accommodate the new automatic climate controls. Steptronic automanual operation has been altered so that you move the transmission lever forward for downshifts and backward for upshifts. Bi-xenon headlamps are on the options list so that both low and high beams can glow a cold blue and can be set to automatic operation. Rear side airbags are available for coupes and convertibles. Two new colors, Electric Red and Gray Green (and a Natural Brown interior leather) join the color spectrum.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Pricey for their market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

Picked up my 330i thru ED. Fantastic option for purchasing a car. There is simply no substitute IMHO for driving one of the finest cars in the world on some of the best roads in the world. If you can afford the time exercise the ED option. You wont regret it. BTW, have you ever heard of someone who did the ED option ever not recommending it?

  • A Great Car for the Enthusiast - 2002 BMW 3-Series

Let me prefix by saying that I was a parking attendant for 7 years and while I did not get to really test drive very far I got a good feel for all of the manufacturers strenghts and weaknesses. I have waited a long time to be able to afford a BMW but worth the wait. I really like a car that is fun to drive. My BMW 330i was preceeded by a 94 97 and 87 integra, A 92 CRX Si, an 84 Mustang GT Convertible all new. This car is faster then all and handles like a dream. BMW has done a great job balancing the feel of this car. I was concerned about quality after owning a string of flawless japanese automobiles but have not be disappointed.

This is the true definition of sprort luxury car. It gives you driving gratification and loves to be pushed. Fully equiped with 18" M-wheels makes this car irresistible.

  • My second BMW - 2002 BMW 3-Series

This is my second BMW, I bought it with only 900 miles. I traded in my 323i 00 for this awesome 325ci. This car is much better than my 2000. Silver, silver trim in the inside, sports package, the sound of the engine for the 5 speed manual is very aggresive. I am going to buy the Xenon lights since I miss them (my 2000 had them). BMW is the way to go. Girls are attracted to them.

  • Amazing car !!! - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I have the 330Ci with manual transmission and fully loaded minus the navigation system. This car provides the perfect blend of performance, luxury, and sportiness. The acceleration is amazing and the handling is flawless. I have read comparos with the IS 300 stating that the Lexus is a better handler. On smooth, racetrack-like pavement this may be true, but the 330 holds its composure much better on the imperfect roads-- which is usually what we encounter daily. You cant go wrong with this car. If you are considering the 325, make sure you drive both back to back. There is a substantial difference in acceleration and clutch feel plus some added amenities. No regrets.

Absolutely fabulous - well worth the money

  • Still the best sports sedan - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I test drove many of the contenders before buying BMW. The G35 wasnt out yet - it wouldnt have mattered (no manual). The IS 300 didnt have AWD and I didnt feel like settling on the all-season tires. The X-Type was slow and the styling wasnt "Jaguar". The WRX didnt impress me. The 9-3 Viggen is a front-driver. The C320 didnt have a manual. It was a close call between the A4 and the 330xi. The BMW is a great daily driver, but I always have a smile on my face knowing that if I should meet a winding, country road, I can cut it loose (Ive found a few such roads in Western Michigan).

Had the car almost one year, and no gripes so far, and very satisfied. Car does everything well as a BMW should. Car has everything but leather and prem. package. Leather not necessary (esp. for $1400), and prem package is too much. Sport package is a must, as well as Xenon headlights. Nav system could be better and falls short of dvd based systems, but for half the price its still as good, just not as fast. Have the occasional interior rattles and subwoofer rattle, but nothing significant. Overall, I would recommend this vehicle to anyone shopping around this price range.
