The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

• Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.

• Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

  First, but not the last - 2006 BMW 3-Series

  This is my first BMW and I couldnt be happier with a car in this class. Ive had two Mercedes C230s, but neither were as fun to drive as this car. The inline 6 is much more responsive than the Mercedes with superchargers and the interior is far more comfortable. I didnt spring for the 330, but with 215hp the 325 has more power than most cars in the class. Under advice from this site and many other BMW owners, I did not get the navigation package with the iDrive.

  I just bought my 2006 325i in mid- August and I absolutely love it. As a woman, I can tell you how great it is to drive and the envy eyes you get riding around time. Its reliable, great on gas and thats coming from a ex- honda civic owner. I also have the navigation system and I feel like Im in heaven. Best damn car ever!

  This is a great, great car. Silky smooth engine and endless amounts of effortless torque all the way up to 130mph. Refined and poised at high speeds, handles like a dream with uncanny road holding ability. Its hard keeping this car under 80mph, and itll only feel like youre going half the speed indicated. Incredible build quality and feel. Navigation system with voice commands is amazing and iDrive, though not immediately intuitive, is to me the way of the future. Stock sound system is awesome. MP3 CD play capability will be available in a Sept. software update for those with iDrive (non-iDrive cars already have MP3 CD ability). Much improved interior room, especially the rear seating.

  Have owned a lot of cars in my day but never one the makes me want to drive it all the time. The build quality is top rate, have not found a problem anywhere. The only thing I am going to need to add to make it complete is a good radar detector because this car wants to run. I was wondering about the run flat tires but they seem to be doing ok.

  This is by far the most fun car Ive ever owned. I own the 330i with the premium and sport packages. I drove the car from NC to OH and the car did great. Whats not to love about the car? I have only two major complaints. The use of the navigation system, and not being able to change my own oil. The iDrive/nav is a complete pain and utter frustration. That, and the unavailability of oil filters at your local auto parts is about it. 4yr maintenance is included with car, but I prefer to change my own thank you. However, once you get the car dialed in from the iDrive, its a BLAST!

  Labor Day Trip - 2006 BMW 3-Series

  Just took my new 06 325i for a trip this Labor Day weekend. It was just fantastic! Felt like I was gliding on air. The transmission is so smooth and the steering makes you feel so in control. I got 32 mpg highway so the cost of gas was not as tough to handle. I thought the space was great. We got 3 suitcases and 3 shopping bags easily in the trunk. I also have the open space in the rear seat to put a long pole we go for our garden. The navigation and satellite topped it off for us - the best road trip ever by far!!!

  Not second guessing - 2006 BMW 3-Series

  I purchased my 06 325i with Automatic, Premium package and gray leather interior in November of 05. I got the sparking graphite and it is a beauty. I am very impressed with the torque and performance of the engine. Whats really amazing is the gas mileage. I am averaging almost 25 city and 34 mpg highway. The 34 mph is at speeds of 70 to 75 mph and occasoinal 80 mph. If you are considering the 3 series, make sure you give the automatic some consideration. This transmission is more consistent than the manual. When in sports mode (If you know how to drive it) it will blow the doors off the manual. Handling is superb and the ride is excellent for a vehicle this size.

  Just purchased this new 330i last week and have fewer than 400 miles on it. Tremendous engine and legendary BMW handling. Previously had a 2001 330Ci and a 2002 325iT. New 3-series is better, overall, than either of the previous cars. Only complaint is visibility is less in this car than in E46 models. Run flat tires are a bit stiff also. Ours has Sport Package; like the Sport seats and suspension. Goes around corners like its on a rail. Satellite radio and BMW assist are great features. Best feature is the feeling you get when pressing the accelerator. BMW claims 255 horsepower for this engine. It feels much stronger than that and yet gets about 30 mpg on the highway. Awesome.

  I just got my 325i (silver w/black leather) yesterday! I love it so far, it was much better than i thought. The 325i is enough power for daily use. If you have the extra $ go for the 330, but it wasnt worth the $6K in my opinion. Going from a front wheel drive jetta to this car, was a huge power difference anyway. I got sport package which is def worth it. And auto transmission, very cool driving it as manuel/auto.

  This is the best purchase I have made! I couldnt be happier with my brand new 330i, not only is it gorgeous, it is very comfortable and drives amazing! I recommend that anyone who is interested in purchasing one to do it, no regrets!
