This Year's Model Updates:

A six-speed SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) transmission is now optional on select 3 Series models, while a five-speed Steptronic automatic is now offered with the 330i Performance Package. Rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and hands-free wireless cell phone capability are now standard features on the sedan and wagon. There are new alloy wheel designs for the 325i, 325xi and 330xi Sport Package. All 330i sedans get a revised grille -- a new black grille instead of silver, with a lower grille combination of body color and black. All 3 Series coupes and convertibles receive a revised front fascia, plus new front and rear bumper contours, Adaptive headlamps and taillights and new designs for both the standard and optional wheels. Interior changes are limited to a revised climate control panel. Finally, Sirius Satellite Radio is now available as an accessory on all 3 Series models.

Pros:
  • Available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners
Cons:
  • Pricey for its market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

  • The perfect car - 2004 BMW 3-Series

Weve had this car since August 2003, with European delivery. It is by far the best, most fun car Ive ever driven, including our 1996 Infiniti I30. On the Autobahn it cruises at 120 mph effortlessly. Even at that speed, it accelerates immediately. Handling is superb, the optional Harmon Kardon stero magnificent. I could not be happier!

After owning muscle type cars for most of my life, I decided to see what the rave was all about with the 330i. After driving the 330i Performance Package, I was left speechless. There was no way that I just got done driving a four door car, the handling and performance was unbelievable for the type of car that it is. Now, in place of my 350Z sits an Imola Red 330i. This is the best car that I have owned by far.

My BMW now has 7200 miles on it, at 3000 miles the transmission was replaced, at 4000 the engine computer was replaced, at 5000 the ignition coils were replaced at 7000 the radio was replaced. It continues to have transmission problems and has been back 7 times to the dealer it is a 2003 model

  • BUY IT - 2004 BMW 3-Series

I bought my 05 325xi six months ago. I love it. It was one of the best decisions Ive made. Just disappointed that leather and bluetooth was not standard. For the amount of money you pay for the car, one can just expect a few luxuries, and with gas prices running through the roof, I wish it was better on gas. You do have to buy supreme. The Mercedes C-class is comparable, but the BMW was more sporty. Since Ive only had the car for six months, I havent had any problems. Overall, its a good car. Its a BMW.

  • Horrible quality - 2004 BMW 3-Series

Okay.. I dont even drive much. in fact I have 7000 miles on my car after having it for a year.(its a 2003). So far I had to get my car fixed 4 times. Twice engine related problems. My 2002 Hyundai Sonata has been much much more reliable than this junk. I like the prestige of owning a BMW but thats about it. and what kind fo 30K+ car doesnt even have a CD changer?? German quality cannot compete with Asian brands any more...

  • Fun-to-drive and practical - 2004 BMW 3-Series

My wife & I bought our blue 325iT certified pre-owned and have been extremely happy with the car. (And at CPO pricing, almost a bargain.) The car is as fun to drive as the 325 sedan and even sticks better in the curves due to its slight rearward weight bias and lowered suspension. At freeway speeds, we get 32 mpg! (City fuel economy, tho, is a poor 18 mpg.) Rear seat area is adequate but not spacious but we find the rear cargo area just fine (if you need to carry a 70-inch TV, maybe you need a bigger wagon). The Premium Package is superb - very luxurious and power-everything - get it. Fit and finish are also superb and our reliability has been pretty rock solid. A fabulous car.

  • Fun to Drive - 2004 BMW 3-Series

The performance seats are a great, even though they take away from the head room for the driver. The GPS option is well worth it; it adds a style to the interior and performs great. This car is a lot of fun. Can not wait to drive to work every day. I find my self taking the long way home from work just to experience the windy roads.

  • Love at first site! - 2004 BMW 3-Series

Gorgeous car with the M sports package that comes with the nicest 18 inch wheels out there. Gorgeous interior too and the handling/performance is fantastic. Nicest looking BMW ever made and indeed based on peoples reaction to this car it is a head turner. Im not quite comfortable yet with the attention and stares this vehicle gets.
