This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

  • 325i Great Car - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

I purchased this car as a service model, with about 5K miles on it. Although Id love to have an M3, the 325i is a good performing car for the money. It has good pick-up and handles great. Its fun to drive and looks good while doing it. I havent had any problems with the car.

  • Excellent Car, Questionable Value - 2006 BMW 3-Series

This is by far the best car Ive ever owned. The engine is smooth and feels more powerful than its advetised 215 hp. Manual transmission is slick and precise. Base model is well equipped, which is fortunate because options make the price unreasonable very fast. Keep the pedal off the firewall and fuel economy is average. Zing it to the redline between every stoplight (much fun!) and economy will suffer greatly. Ride is firm and controlled with base suspension, but not harsh. Have had no mechanical problems in the 3000 miles Ive owned it. Base stereo is passable, but disappointing in a car of this stature. A great car, but probably not the best value available for your money.

  • 325xi a must in the snow belt! - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

I absolutely love my new 325xi. It is amazing in the snow and a true sports car to drive on dry pavement. Interior room is superb for a car of this size and the features are like that of a James Bond car! I truly believe it handles better than my old Corvette! If you are looking for a luxury sports sedan and you are in the snow belt, you will love this automobile!

  • Sweeet Riide - 2006 BMW 3-Series

This is the first BMW and foreign car that I have owned. Coming from the V8 American muscle car scene, Vettes, T/As and Camaros, I am very impressed with this car overall. My biggest disappointment is low end torque. Neither the 325 or the 330 have sufficient low end torque. The car revs like a bat out of hell all the way to 7000 RPM and that makes it sweet but in order to keep the power up, you have to keep it revved. Other than that, there is not a bad thing I can say about this vehicle. The handling is out of this world and I recommend the sport package. The workmanship is better than the best of the American vehicles as the Germans think of things that GM and Ford dont for some reason.

  • Worth the extra money! - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

I just traded my 02 3 series, and BMW has done it once again! This is a drivers car, the perfect balance of road feel vs. luxury. My advice is buy the car because it is beautiful in design & awesome to drive. Also, you have to get some toys. if you find your self looking at stripped ones, dont bother. You have to pony up the extra money for the premium package at least. I think the sports package and xenons are worth it too. Satellite radio is an option, but it is awesome.

  • BMW 2006 325i, "the best all around car" - 2006 BMW 3-Series

BMW 325i is a great fun to drive car that has plenty of power, economy amd safety. The BMW full Maintenance plan is excellent and really aids in making the car a great pleasure to drive.

  • BMW 330 Convertible - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

Had a 2004 330 Convertible, with only 43k miles, which got totaled after accident with a pack of deer on 05/01/2015. Immediately started searching for a replacement car, 2004-2006 BMW Convertible. Due to airbag fiasco, also looked & drove 1 Series, 2007-2015 3 Series & other convertibles nothing beat my 2004 330, so looked across entire country & found a 2006 330 with 36k miles. I AM VERY,VERY HAPPY with car. In my opinion nothing beats the the 2002-2006 Bimmers, especially when it comes to convertibles.

  • Great car but a few complaints - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

Great car and performance. Gas milage on NY Thruway is averaging 36 mpg with manual transmission. Do not like 1. no body side moulding at all 2. Cigarette lighter power does not work unless motor is running. 3. No alarm system and dealer wants $700 to install one.

  • Great Drive! - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

My first BMW and have owned for only 3 months, but what a great experience! What a change from Lexus. Performance is smooth and acceleration exhilarating. Shiftings a pleasure and smoother after the first 1K mi. Sport seats fit perfectly and adjust in all direction; sport suspension is taught but supple; this car sticks to the road with no lean in the turns and is very quiet. Have RFTs but no problems with noise or jarring rides. Sirius radio is too complex and sounds better at higher volume. A/C works quickly. Inside is suprisingly roomy even in back. Aluminum trim is great. Comfort access is handy - just leave the keys in your pack and save the pain.

  • A Solid Luxury Performance Convertible - 2006 BMW 3-Series
    By -

This is without doubt, the best luxury performance convertible I have ever owned. I traded a Honda S2000 which I thourghly enjoyed as well, but Im getting up there in years. I will miss the Honda but, NOT FOR LONG. We now own two BMWs; the X5 and this 330CIC; I think I can honestly say we are a BMW family from this point forward. Build quality is second to none and, based on our experience with the X5, we do not anticipate any problems service or performance wise.
