Overview & Reviews
BMW has seen fit to give the sedans and wagons a facelift for 2002. An in-dash CD player finally makes it onto the standard features list. The center stack has been altered to accommodate the new automatic climate controls. Steptronic automanual operation has been altered so that you move the transmission lever forward for downshifts and backward for upshifts. Bi-xenon headlamps are on the options list so that both low and high beams can glow a cold blue and can be set to automatic operation. Rear side airbags are available for coupes and convertibles. Two new colors, Electric Red and Gray Green (and a Natural Brown interior leather) join the color spectrum.
- Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
- Pricey for their market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

truly is the Ultimate Driving Machine - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By BGT - September 18 - 2:00 amLove this car and was worth every dollar! The 3.0 inline 6 is amazing- quiet, smooth, and pulls all the way up to the redline. The body is tight and makes you want to find and push the limit on the twisties and turns. Interior quality is excellent and only the Audi is as nice. Very tight build and everything feels solid. Body style is not the most forward design but it has a look that will age gracefully and is a car that is worthy of owning many years down the road.

Fun Car - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By Jean330i - September 17 - 2:00 amI have only just purchased the vehicle and its the most fun I have ever had driving a car. I live for the curves, where the car stays flat and hugs the road with complete confidence. Driving is an event that brings a smile. I dont know yet about reliability, so I cant really judge. This car is not plush on the inside, it doesnt scream "luxury", rather, it emphatically whispers "quality". The only other vehicle I considered was the Lexus and there was no comparison. The Lexus felt too soft-too disconnected from the road. My research sources concluded that its one of the better made vehicles...and that the drive is the best. I agree.

Its a BMW - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By wrld traveler - August 24 - 10:00 am2nd Bimmer, first a 96 328is which I loved. Decided to go for the new design in 01 w/ the 325ci. I got one of the first ones so I took what I could get. Prem. pkg, auto trans., no xenons(big disapointment!!). Great car, handles like a dream although! Perfect for a college student (a kid has an M5 on campus..parents must want him dead). NOT too fast, but not too slow at the same time and its extremely safe. I drove the 330ci after much hype (sales guy was like "this thing is a rocket, better be careful!") my girlfriend and I were very disapointed..we were expecting a very fast car..even my 328is felt faster.I will probably always stick with the bimmers..next up is the M3 coupe w/SMG

Great Drive, Few build issues - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By Mike Leopando - August 12 - 10:00 amI have owned my 330 coupe for 10 months. The drive is superb. I have owned the 2.5 and 2.8 3-series and the 3.0 is light years ahead. My only problem is small build problems. At six months both front turn signals fell out on the highway due to a broken clip. A eight months the door seal came loose and the driver door must be slammed to close. The dealer was pretty good about fixing the problems, but I can see that BMW is starting to cheapen some components. Mechanically there has never been a problem.

BMW: the ultimate driving machine - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By mcintyrecd - July 14 - 2:00 amI love this car. The only thing I would like better is if it had a sixth gear. It revvs high in 5th which decreases hwy gas mileage. Its at about 3000 rpm at 70 mph. But the new 330 manual has a sixth gear, so they fixed that problem! The driving is the best part. It handles like a dream. And the top goes down in about 25 seconds, fully automatic.

A SUPERIOR CAR - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By SAMMYD - July 12 - 10:00 amThis vehicle has surpassed my expectations. The ride and handling are excellent. I expected the AWD system to be a drag on the acceleration but I have been pleasantly suprised by the responsiveness of this XI model. To summarize, this is a great car. If only BMW would provide a a stereo system worthy of the overall performace of this remarkable vehicle.

Ultimate Driving Machine - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By sebis - July 12 - 10:00 amGreat car, I love it. I would not imagine myself at this age (31) driving another car, except maybe for an M3. Youll have to own one to really understand. No problems what so ever, I put 18,000 miles in 10 months.
