Overview & Reviews
A boost in engine displacement and technology, plus an available all-wheel-drive system keeps BMW's venerable 3 Series at the top of its game in the competitive entry-level luxury market. Larger wheels and brakes are part of the engine upgrade. Two-stage front airbags, reduced steering effort, a Cold Weather package and Dynamic Brake Control round out the major changes for 2001.
- Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
- Pricey for their market segment, limited cargo capacity.

WOW! - 2001 BMW 3-Series
By BMW-Black - January 29 - 10:00 amOver 16,000 miles of trouble free driving. The 330i is fast smooth and quite except for the great sound of the exhaust note. Everything is quailty and I have been getting 28-29 mpg mixed driving. On one trip it got 33mpg this is all with the manual transmission which to me is the way to go. And get the sports package!

Great car, but... - 2001 BMW 3-Series
By rhody - December 19 - 2:00 amThis is my first BMW and I was very impressed with the quality of the overall package. It is very fun to drive and it handles well although it is not nearly as quick as I had hoped. The Steptronic system gives you the best of both worlds and helps a bit with the acceleration. I love this car, but if you live somewhere where it snows, dont let this be your only car!

low profile tires - 2001 BMW 3-Series
By burtlin - September 30 - 2:00 amtwo blow outs on sidewalls within past 6 months - very frightening. low profile tires on sport package {330ix) a definite hazzard in the western hill country on Massachusetts.I will not buy another bmw with these type of thin sidewalls. it is best handling auto as well as most uncomfortable. Car radio (premium) just awfull. no range and difficult to use without taking eyes off the road. Otherwise car just fine,

2001- BMW 330i - little problems a pain! - 2001 BMW 3-Series
By jmchatelle - September 22 - 10:00 amI bought the vehicle new in 2000 and within a month had to take it in because the sunroof wouldnt open. It was repaired and within 1-wk had to be taken back for the same problem. Less than a month later the driver side window became stuck and wouldnt close. I had it repaired - twice. Now the passenger-side window is having the same difficulty. On the "up" side, the car has EXCELLENT pick-up and maneuvering and is a absolute BLAST to drive. I have not had a moments trouble with the engine or computer systems. And despite the annoyance of the little problems, I wouldnt have anything but a BMW. Ive almost got my spouse talked into the new BMW SUV.

BMW The Ultimate Driving Machine - 2001 BMW 3-Series
By Birdman - September 17 - 10:00 amThe title says it all. The car handels great, except has a tendancy to hydroplain in wet conditions. Over 22,000 miles and have had no problems. Tire wear is a problem, so expect to pay a big price for moderate sports tires.

BMW 325i - 2001 BMW 3-Series
By Gary Ross - July 12 - 10:00 amThis is my first BMW and I have to admit I a sold! Best drive of all the cars I have had or been in. I travel a lot and rent many cars. I have also tried to keep US automakers in mind when purchasing but BMW wins hands down. This is a solid car with great all around appeal. It is also rated safer than the volvo on independent crash test. Finally the service is outstanding and hastle free. I recommend the 3 series to someone who wants quality and performance. It is a great car!!!

By BMW330xi_@hotmail.com - 2001 BMW 3-Series
By 686860001 - July 5 - 10:00 amBasically, Ive had no problems what so ever with this vehicle. One thing, though, its not made to drag race. If you want a drag racer BMW, get the M3. This care is made for pure driving pleasure. I love just taking the 330xi out on a Sunday afternoon on quiet, curvy, valley roads, and hearing the engine as it goes through the RPMs, and feeling the car respond. The handling is just plain AMAZING on this car. I took a corner that said "10 MPH" going 30 MPH, no problems, I dindt even peel out. The car just stayed glued to the road. Extremely fun car, and pretty quick too.

Fantastic car - 2001 BMW 3-Series
By ekuo - June 11 - 2:00 amWe bought this car new to replace my aging Integra Hatchback. Essentially, I wanted the 325i sedan but we needed the larger trunk space and utility of a wagon. This vehicle sacrifices none of the sedans handling and performance. We included the sports package, which I believe is a must have for the 325. The handling is sharp, telescopic, and easy to manage. The car simply loves being tossed into a corner. The exterior also benefits from a true wagon design, not the hatch on the sedan design that you might see on some others. The only mechanical issue this car encountered was the faulty auxillary fan.
