This Year's Model Updates:

A boost in engine displacement and technology, plus an available all-wheel-drive system keeps BMW's venerable 3 Series at the top of its game in the competitive entry-level luxury market. Larger wheels and brakes are part of the engine upgrade. Two-stage front airbags, reduced steering effort, a Cold Weather package and Dynamic Brake Control round out the major changes for 2001.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Pricey for their market segment, limited cargo capacity.

The BMW 325xi is a well-built, sporty, exceptionally-handling vehicle. Its fun to drive, handles well in snow and ice and very well designed. The only problems Ive experienced is that its difficult to keep out of the dealers service department - have had many, many minor headaches, electrical bugs, warning lights, and other minor headaches.

This car is fun to drive. The five speed is very responsive and the power curve in the upper gears is thrilling to use on the open highway and interstates. Need to be sure and have a radar detector installed or the insurance costs could be prohibitive. Ride is excellent and we were amazed at the fuel economy with the amount of power.

I can only say that I am one satisfied customer. I previously owned a 95 325i, and though these two vehicles are light years apart in some ways, they both reflect the quality and driver enjoyment that is synonymous with BMW. I love my 2001 330i, and can honestly say that I look for "excuses" just to get it out of the garage and drive it. . . somewhere. . . anywhere. As for complaints, I really dont have any. Sure, the cupholders are the makings of a minimalist, and BMWs are the pricey selection in their respective categories. However, my father always told me, "You get what you pay for," and once again, good ol Dad was right.

My experience with this car has been excellent. The fit and finish, along with the design, are top notch (as I would expect from a German manufacturer). Im sold on BMWs and will plan on upgrading to a 5-series for my next car.

Bought the car for the wife, coming off a 3 year lease @2.9%, on a BMW CPO program. Have had to take back to dealership twice, once to replace a faulty intake cam sensor, and once for some minor adjustments. Handling is impeccable, and power is good for 184HP, but wish they would offer more power without having to upgrade to a 330. Havent pushed the top end, but expect its more than I would want. Dealership has been fair to deal with, but I just dont have that warm fuzzy feeling yet. Brake dust, of course, is an unsolveable problem.

3.0 litre engine packs nice punch, with tight handling to go along. Comfortable cockpit with great adjustable leather seats.

This is my first BMW, I have had almost one of the other german autos and I have to say this is the finest of the bunch. Great style, excellent interior, plenty of power, and as good fuel milage as my past VW. THe other up is you dont feel like an old timer driving this car like I did in my Mercedes.

Bought my first BMW in December of 2000 and love it, love it, love it. 24K miles now. Should have bought the sport package and exact opinions I wanted, but got antsy and bought one off the dealers lot. - a mistake you should not make. Premium package is a rip off, You can get most of the options seperate. Im experiencing my first problem. Need to take it in next week - a creaking noise sometimes when turning the steering wheel. I am hooked on BMW!!

Excellent car all around !! Best handling and braking and great acceleration makes this more fun to drive then any other car in its class. This car is also a great investment because it has some of the best resale value anywhere...

Great car, but lacks all the extra "gadget" goodies of the Infiniti brand.
