Overview & Reviews
For 2000 3 Series coupes, convertibles and wagons are all new; the hatchback has been discontinued. After last year's complete redesign, 2000 sedans see only minor improvements.
- Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners.
- Pricey for their market segment, limited rear seat and cargo capacity.

Wow - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By BimmerBoy - January 21 - 10:00 amThis is simply the best purchase i have ever done. The car is magnificent, drives smooth, its comfortable and its quiet. Simply the best. BMW lives up to its name as the ultimate driving machine. I have a SPORT/PREMIUM PKG with 17 inch alloy rims with crom tip exhaust and with FULL OPTIONS. The premium sound is spectacular, the steptronics on this car is the best. I know for a fact my next car will be a BMW.

what a great sportwagon - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By muoicali - January 3 - 2:00 amFirst time I bought a Bmw, and I will never go back to Japanese cars. This Bimmer is the highest quality car, driving it is always a pleasure, even after 3 years with 33000 miles. No problems at all. I think the 3 series sport wagon is a rare find, that makes it look more exquisite than the regular sedan. Its a stylist family car, and looks great for sports folks too: skiing,camping,surfing,biking,... excellent car all around.

Thought it was hype til I owned one. - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By FleaMW - October 29 - 2:00 amPure and simple, this car is a joy to drive day in and day out. The quality and reliability are on a much higher level from the other vehicles I have owned in the past. At 100,000 miles, everything is still tight and rattle free. I use snow tires on all four wheels during our Ohio winters and they provide excellent stability in the slick stuff. Dont drive like a maniac and consistantly get 27-31 MPG with 5 speed.

Buyers beware - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By garlic7 - October 28 - 10:00 amBefore this car I would have bought BMWs for the remainder of my driving days. Now, I will not buy another one. True, it is fun to drive. Although sluggish on the uptake, the sport auto transmission makes up the difference. Mechanically this car is a nightmare. Mine is in the shop every 6 weeks and when I get it back I call the next week to set up another service appointment. For city dwellers with less than expressway quality roads, dont buy this car. You will be replacing wheels (rims) every year at a cost of $1200+ and tires every 15k miles. Keep your money and buy something more economical and reliable.

By ArielMcN - October 5 - 10:00 amafter test driving about 7 makers, i was blown away by the BMW sports package ride in this wagon. I bought it certified used and the warrenty coupled with present low apr made it a great deal. My honda seems like it was a tin can in comparison.

Buyer be ware! - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By HPBaco - September 16 - 2:00 amI thought I was buying a car that would last me for a long time. I only have 63,000 miles on it and its starting to break down like an American car. Electric problems, complete brake job, and more! I had 2 Nissans and 2 Hondas, and loved them all, see you BMW, hello Toyota!

Never Again - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By aaprop - June 29 - 2:00 amI loved this car until it went out of warranty 6000 miles ago - Ive now spent $6000 on repairs at the dealership. An independent repair shop said my repairs are typical of problems they see with both the 3 and 5 series. And they gave me a list of other things that will likely need fixing in the near future. I have never owned a car that required so many costly repairs. I assumed the high price of the car meant higher quality and fewer long term maintenance problems. I was wrong -- and Ill never make this mistake again.

mostly satisfied - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By spiker - May 4 - 10:00 amImpressed with handling and upper speeds, but it is a little sluggish on take off, even with manual. Irritated at stalling problem (some sensor) and power windows, but all fixed under warranty. In fact, at 30K, dealer even replaced both control arms. Grateful for free service even at 30K.
