This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

  • 2006 325i ALL SMILES - 2006 BMW 3-Series

What an upgrade from a VW Jetta. The saying, " VW Jetta is a poor mans BMW," is partially true, and now I know what I have been missing by not paying the extra 5K to get a BMW in the past. I think We just bought a new BMW at the right time. This car is German engineering to the T. Absolutely flawless, stout, and sleek at the same time. We lost our 2001 VR6 Jetta to Katrina, and the wife wanted another German made car. So, we went to a BMW dealer, and that same day we decided to purchase. If you are in the market for a sport sedan, want the best of the best... go test drive the 2006 325i!

  • Great Car, but is it Reliable? - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Overall, this car handles very well and has a good smooth engine and transmission. Unfortunately, after only about 1400 miles I had to take it in for an airbag sensor malfunction and other minor electrical issues. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

The handling, styling, cornering, etc. This car was just named World Car of the Year and I can see why. The Ultimate Driving Machine.

  • 330xi Review - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I have owned 8 BMWs since 1973, everything from a 320i to a 740i, a M5 and a 540i. The 330xi is probably the best "overall" car I have driven all these years. It has only been a few weeks, but I can already tell that this car will be a favorite. Excellent power, phenomenal ergonomics and handling on a par with an M3. I opted for all the options and even like the iDrive system with on board navigation. The new 3 series is the more handsome of the " Chris Bangle" era, but heed my advice and opt for the Sport package with 18" style 162 wheels. It is the ONLY way of making the 330 look handsome; The standard car with 17" wheels and no options looks terrible and that includes the 325.

  • Just like old times! - 2006 BMW 3-Series

this is my 3rd BMW 325i. I fell in love in Germany in 2000 and have loved them every since. The price is great for the comfort, luxury options, driving experience, and safety features. Car insurance is comfortable for a sports car. I like the upgrades on the 2006. For example; run flats, key pod, aux jack for stereo system.

  • Love my 2nd bimmer! - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I dont have enough time to drive this car! Once you own one of these babies youd not want anything else (but a Masserrati.) Love the bluetooth, mp3 hook-up, integrated remote system a plus and the xenon lights a blast! The car feels more substantial and luxurious than previous model. Run-flat tires great update! Auto folding side mirrors works great too. I really like this updated model!!

  • Great car, overall - 2006 BMW 3-Series

This is a great car but definitely a product of a different design philosophy from past BMWs that we knew and loved. Thankfully, it has not been as Bangle-ized as 5s and 7s have. I agree with the reviews that some of the original purity has given way to more of a luxury driving experience. Engine, steering, suspension, and braking are typical BMW - great - as are seating and general interior ergonomics, and the sound system is superb. There are a few cheap interior bits and pieces, but the big miss is the total lack of any engine temperature reading other than an idiot light and no real dipstick in the engine compartment.

  • Glad I finally went BMW - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I debated on spending the extra money on the BMW versus our old reliable Honda and Toyota usual purchases. I am completely glad I spent the extra. I love my car, every time I drive it I enjoy it more. My husband, who is a truck man, loves to drive it, and now argues with me over who gets in the drivers seat. The performance is great. I wanted a sedan with some sport, some get up, great looks, and reliability with solid build quality and this fits the bill.

This is one of the best cars I owned, it runs smoothly on highways, good performance on bad roads also (I live in Costa Rica) it feels very compact and very stable on sharp turns.
