This Year's Model Updates:

For 2000 3 Series coupes, convertibles and wagons are all new; the hatchback has been discontinued. After last year's complete redesign, 2000 sedans see only minor improvements.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners.
Cons:
  • Pricey for their market segment, limited rear seat and cargo capacity.

  • One of the Best - 2000 BMW 3-Series

Bought this car with 14K miles on it and having put almost 40K miles on it 2 years, I can say this is one of the best cars Ive ever owned. I love the looks, handling and comfort. Its not a rocket, but its still quick and great for passing and navigating through freeway traffic. Im now spoiled. Will drive this one until its time to get another.

  • BEST COUPE OUT NOW? - 2000 BMW 3-Series

THIS IS A MAGNIFICENT PIECE OF ART...I THINK ITS A LITTLE ON THE SLOWER SIDE,THE 5 SERIES I HAD A WAS A LITTLE FASTER,ALTHOUGH ITS A SLEEK COMFORTABLE VEHICLE I THINK THE DESIGN IS GREAT AND IT MOVES VERY QUIETLY AND SMOOTHLY A LITTLE ROUGH ON BUMPS (WELL IM IN NY SO THATS NORMAL)IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A NICE COUPE THIS IS THE ONE.

  • Overpriced and unreliable - 2000 BMW 3-Series

I purchased this car brand new in 2000 and can honestly say that this has been the most expensive and poorly designed vehicle Ive ever owned. Ive had the following issues: suspension issues (control arms - 2 times!), HVAC, ignition switch, windown regulators, power steering pump, radio, horns, speakers go bad and require replacement. Latest issues: camshaft sensor, amplifier, and another power window regulator. Stay away from BMW. BMW North America doesnt care about their customers either. After warranty expires, DUMP THIS CAR.

  • It really is a value. - 2000 BMW 3-Series

When you consider what this car has and does, plus the sheer good looks and safety, its more than worth the cash. Ive experienced no problems at all, and the dealership is amazing. Im back in the BMW camp for good this time.

  • The Germans build a better car. - 2000 BMW 3-Series

I had always owned American cars --- never again. The Germans build a better car. No more front wheel drive for me. The performance and handling of a manual gearbox front rear wheel drive car is a wonderful thing.

  • Great car for a daily driving - 2000 BMW 3-Series

I got this car almost 2 years ago and I still love it. That is one of the best cars Ive ever driven.

  • Still crazy for it after nearly 3 years - 2000 BMW 3-Series

There is actually little that needs to be said. I drove every vehicle made priced between $30-$40,000 and nothing else compared. I have since not had one single problem with the car, and I do not treat it gently. When I got it, I envisioned turning it in after year 3 of my lease. Instead, I just bought out the lease and hope to be able to keep it forever.

  • BOOO Motor works - 2000 BMW 3-Series

I purchased my vehicle straight from the factory. The electrical and mechanical problems have been a nightmare, now my car has started to shutter and stall when taking off, still under warranty but apparently problem not covered, only 39,000 miles on it but looking to drive another car soon. No car of this calibur should have so many problems, already had the motor in sunroof, sensor, door seal, window brackets, lights, dash lights etc, etc replaced so much repaired I made a file for it. This car is not the ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE its a DRIVING NIGHTMARE MACHINE.
