Overview & Reviews
For 2000 3 Series coupes, convertibles and wagons are all new; the hatchback has been discontinued. After last year's complete redesign, 2000 sedans see only minor improvements.
- Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners.
- Pricey for their market segment, limited rear seat and cargo capacity.

2000 328Ci - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By LondonJim - May 14 - 10:00 amThe car is an excellent mixture of performance and comfort. Build quality is quite high and any problems - only minor - have been addressed without question by any of the dealerships we have used. Despite the rear wheel drive, this car has never had issues with snow or rain driving no matter how icy or snowy our alley side garage has become. The interior is smart and functional while the exterior is still one of the best looking around with elements appearing in many other cars.

Certified PreOwned Means Nothing - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By BallJointsNsuch - April 16 - 2:52 pmBought it two years ago Certified Pre-Owned from a dealership in NY. They did 0 work to the vehicle to Certify it, except charge roughly $1000 for the warranty which covers jack squat. I have replaced window regulators, ball joints ($2000), Brakes and Rotors, Tires and a long list of other items. This car rides great but is completely unreliable. My radio and On Board Computer are currently malfunctioning but ive lost patience to go fix it. Go buy a Consumer reports magazine ....then go buy a Lexus. My Tacoma TRD has roughly the same mileage and 0 problems.

323iT Sports Wagon - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By TalkingBodies - March 23 - 12:54 pmThis is a great car. It drives, handles, and feels like a unique, solid performance sedan should, yet it is smooth and quiet and gets respectable gas mileage. When considering a BMW, please remember that it is not a Japanese car it wont be as reliable and as simple to drive, nor as cheap. Conversely, youll be reminded it isnt Japanese every time you drive it -- its that enjoyable. Maintenance is also more costly: air filters cost $20, it takes synthetic oil, and even special windshield wipers. You should be aware of this before you test drive. My wagon has had only minor problems: door latches and a sunroof drain issue. I love this car -- I wont buy another brand.

The Ultimate Driving Machine - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By freqflier - March 21 - 10:00 amThis is my second BMW, I previously owned a 323i. This is the best 3- series for the money. Although the 330 IS faster and has more torque, I couldnt see paying the additional 5K. The plus side, 328 steering feels better than 330 steering. Ive only had the car in the shop once to get some new rotors and brakes. The OEM rotors were squealing everytime I stopped. Did that service at 36K miles at a cost of $800.

Truly "The Ultimate Driving Machine"! - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By mschbrem - March 13 - 10:00 amIf you have the money to spend, and tend to drive with only one more person, this is the car for you! Back seat space is a little limited but then again IT IS A COUPE! Drove the car from South Florida to Northern Virginia without getting back problems or growing tired. Smooth, quiet and very comfortable (with the sport seats)!

BMW Does Not Equal Quality - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By BMW = Quality??? - January 13 - 6:35 pmIm a 32 year old financial planner. Owned a Honda and two Toyotas before deciding to buy THE car. I bought a used 2000 328i with 45k miles on it two years ago. It now has a little over 100k on it. It still runs great, feels great, looks great, its a real joy to drive. BUT the maintenance costs on this car are crazy. Sensors, computers, brakes, thermostat. Ive probably spent an additional $3,000 in the last 12 months on maintenance issues. I finally found a local shop that works on them rather than getting robbed at the dealership for every little thing. Fun car to drive, expensive to own.

Jules Review - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By Jidge33 - January 7 - 2:00 amI absolutly love my BMW! I had an 89 325i for a couple of years and it was a real treat to get a newer one. Once you drive a Beamer you never want anything else! It handles like a dream and is just a really superior car.

The ultimate driving machine?? - 2000 BMW 3-Series
By iseedipp - January 1 - 10:00 amGreat looking car i was fortunate enough that my parents bought me a black one for my bday with 29,000. Dont feel very classy with squeaky brakes (31,000 miles) yes i drive my bmw hard but then again its "the ultimate driving machine" its made to be driven and looked at. BMW work on your brake quality
