nice "looking" car - 1999 Audi A6
By firefighterlfd - March 31 - 2:00 amI love the interior. Heated steering wheel, front and rear seats. I only have 38,000 and the front stunts squeek. I had to change the water pump and thermostat $700 and the front fight CV boot $200 in less than a year. Seems like there would be a warranty for this type of vehical but nope 3 yr 40000.

Looks Nice...Falls apart - 1999 Audi A6
By AudiMakesMeSad - February 28 - 2:00 amWhat a shame...I loved this car for the first two months...Thats when the problems started. I had it at the dealership 5 times in 10 months. Anyway, not reliable and Audi was overall indifferent to the poor quality. BEWARE

Beautiful Wagon - 1999 Audi A6
By Audi Girl - January 24 - 2:00 amWithout a doubt, the Audi A6 Avant is a stunning car to look at. Although I didnt have many problems with it, it is now out of warranty and Im getting rid of it before it attacks me in the wallet. Too expensive to fix and I fear a transmission problem developing ("clunking" at 70+ mph. Have had to replace the tires twice in 3 years and I keep losing trim pieces: cupholders fall apart and the cover on the headlight washers have fallen of, while driving, 4 times and Ive had to replace them. It is a lovely vehicle, but dont keep it past its warranty!

carl - 1999 Audi A6
By thompso11 - August 21 - 2:00 amBought the car used with 52k, looks great, love the interior, but poor reliability. Within the last 10 months I have had a transmission leak ($320), engine oil leaks ($1,000), cruise control module ($525), transmission relay ($520) and the digital display is fading. I plan on trading it in next week on a Nissan.

German Disappointment - 1999 Audi A6
By NC_Audi_Owner - August 11 - 2:00 amBought the car used -- still under Audi A$$urance -- and boy did we need it! Dealer tried to weasel out of almost all our issues. Our personal mechanic was more reliable than the dealer. We bought Audi because we trust German engineering (we own a 13 year old Benz that has over 225K miles - still solid as a rock!). Sorry to say .. this will be our last 2.8 A6 -- and its interesting to see Audi now using a 3.0 in place of the 2.8 -- hmmmmmmmm.

One cool car - 1999 Audi A6
By DocBranch - August 5 - 2:00 amAfter four years of owning my A6 I still love it and people still take notice. Its understated, subtle and classy. The Black w/ Black interior really sets off the instrument panel. On the interstate I can run as fast as my hear will stand it even though its a 6cyl. I cant see buying any other but another one of these.

A6 Lovely but risky - 1999 Audi A6
By A6Driver - July 31 - 2:00 amI love my A6 Avant in most repects. I can throw my two dogs in the back and go camping or enjoy the twisty canyon roads with the steptronic transmission. I love the interior, the sound system, the looks and the refined engine /transmission combination. All I ask is that the car hold together over the long term. I bought it with 36,000 miles and 2,000 miles later it is in the shop having a clunk in the front suspension looked at. The brakes are also being scrutinized as they have begun to squeal. The air conditioning works well but sounds like a giant vacuum cleaner. I recommend the Audiworld website.

GREAT car - 1999 Audi A6
By ndjano - July 4 - 2:00 amBought this Audi last year and havent had one problem. Not one complaint at all. Car is totally awesome and soooo fun to drive. Quattro system is unbelievable this car goes anywhere. We take this vehicle into the mountains on snow-covered roads to go skiing and not once have we ever lost traction. The ride is flawless and the handling is top notch. Will definitely buy again because those Germans sure can build one hell of a car! Buy one, trust me.... you wont regret it.

Overall Great Experience - 1999 Audi A6
By Trademkr - June 30 - 2:00 amThis is my first Audi. Love the A6. Very stable vehicle in snow and rain. A pleasure to drive. I would compare it with the much more expensive E - class Mercedes. Highly recommend
