Stretch an A4 platform, add rounded styling with plenty of edges for character, toss in a sumptuously comfortable interior available in several "atmosphere" styles, blend it all with traditional Germanic handling and what do you get? The excellent new Audi A6 sedan. Our only quibble is with the taillights, which appear to have been inspired by the Chevrolet S-10 pickup. The wagon is carried over from 1997.

  Love the car - hate the repairs - 1998 Audi A6

  This car drives like a dream. But with only 60,000 miles on it I have had to replace the water pump, replace all the valve gaskets and the rear differential gasket. I am averaging almost $400 a month in maintenance and repairs. I am really going to miss the comfort, luxury, and handling of this car when I trade it in on a more reliable, less expensive car to own.

  I still am not too excited about the look of the rear tail lights and I think that the center cup holder is a poor design. One 7-11 big gulp and a slight sharp turn and your cup holder is reduced to broken plastic. How can Audi put a donut spare in a car of this magnitude? Other than that, I love this car! It gets a lot of looks and compliments and I love the safe feel that I get with the handling and the all wheel drive.

  This car is by far the best thing I could ask for. It has all the best features any person could ask for. The assurance in winter in Chicago of FULLTIME Quattro, by far the best system ever made (just ask rallycross(A competition offraod race league that BANNED quattro from its track because it gave an unfair advantage, the same advantage Audi gives you on their factory cars, like my A6. I have gotten out of muck mudand 12 inch snow, more than my 4WD Chevy BLAZER could ever do. Plus you have a world calass car with better, more attreactive build quality than any mercedes or utilitarian BMW!!!!

  This is a great car. Not only does it look beautiful, but it is extremly safe. I walked away from a horrible accident w/ only a broken hand. I also got many compelements on the unique look of the car from total strangers. It was very fun to drive, but it did get poor gas mileage (19- 24mpg). The only complaint i have about the body is that the front end sits very low and can easily be damaged by concrete parking barriers. Granted I only had my A-6 for 4mos and 4,000 miles, but i would recommend the car.

  I bought my car used, with about 32,000 miles on it. I have driven it about 23,000 miles, and over the 18 months Ive owned it, have had the car in the shop 14 times. Not minor things either - new upper and lower oil pans, bad fuel injection system, all new sparks,etc., basically everthing but the tranny. This car is the most unreliable piece of junk I have ever had the displeasure of owning. Now I know why the previous owner traded it in at 32,000 miles, he was sick and tired of the unrealibility too. I cant wait to trade this hunk of junk in!

  Nice design,easy to drive, frequent problems--brakes,ws washer pump,front bumper too low and has been pulled off four times when backing from curb(bad design) Trunk lock, glove box lock do not work, Interior pieces fall off.Cup holders do not work. Overall build quality poor. TOO FREQUENT MAINTENANCE. Would not purchase again.

  A great car, fun to drive, quattro in Wisconsin is wonderful. No problems in the year i have owned it. Starts out in the snow as if the pavement was dry. Buy one you will love it.

  Bought my A6 quattro wagon new in RI. Used if for commuting and carpooling and it it also got complements for its looks and ride. Never had a problem in bad weather with the car. Moved to SanDeigo and I put 18" performance tires on the car and handles like a 5 series. Plan on lowering it an inch as well. Best purchase I could have made I have the versitility of an SUV but the comfort of a luxury sedan and the sportness of a sport sedan. Cant wait to purchase my next audi quattro wagon.

  I like this car it gets many compliments fron other drivers and passengers it handles well in any weather it has more room than you might think just looking at it. The sound system it great. You might not out speed other high end cars but more than likely youll out handle and out style them with this car.
