This Year's Model Updates:

The A6 gets a new 220-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 to replace last year's 2.8-liter. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is available on front-wheel-drive models with this engine. Other mechanical changes this year include stronger brakes, an improved stability control system and BrakeAssist. OnStar telematics makes its way onto the options list, and you'll be pleased to find a standard six-disc changer in the dashboard. Styling in and around the car, such as the head and taillamps, is slightly modified and new interior and exterior colors expand your choices.

Pros:
  • Large selection of engines, well-appointed interior, all-wheel-drive stability.
Cons:
  • Non-linear steering, questionable exterior styling.

  • no contest! - 2002 Audi A6

Ive been an audi fanatic for over 10 years now, and my love for the cars still holds strong. The 2.7T engine is unbelievable for crusing, and for those red light launches. The xenons are great, visibility is unmatched, The bose is crisp, heated rear seats are just cool, and the engine is to die for. This is my 5th Audi in 10 years and they get better everytime!!!!

  • Great car -- for the money - 2002 Audi A6
    By -

This is a really great car. Its a hoot to drive, its fast, it looks hot, the quality is top-notch. Its worth another $10k (but Audis reputation cant support it) -- and it beats everything else in its class. And keep in mind, Ive owned BMWs, Porsches, and M-Bs. The Quattro is smooth. The turbos scream. Ive got the Sport Package -- and Im glad I do. Steering is a little vague not enough road feel. And...watch out for the front bumper. Its very low (for a sedan). You dont want to hook it on a parking stop.

  • What a car! - 2002 Audi A6

Wow! I was looking for something sporty and comfortable that could handle the miserable inland NW snow and ice. This babys the ticket! Unbelievable power and great braking. Extremely efficient cliamte control and great heated seats. Handles like a charm no matter how bad the roads are. Audi has come a long way from the old garage crashers and this car is the proof (I still hear the jokes though.) Acceleration is a little herky jerky (but once the turbos kick in, hang on!) The brakes are a little grabby too, but you get used to it.

  • VERY Satisfied - 2002 Audi A6

I now have 9800 miles on my 2002 A6 4.2. It has performed flawlessly, and is as much fun to drive as the three Porsches Ive owned (in 70s and mid 80s). Its fast quiet beautifully designed interior interesting, German-type technical features (loaded with them!) and, in the mountains the Quattro is invaluable. Im running Dunlop Winter Sport M2s for Winter (Tire Rack purchase they stick like glue, in Boulder snowstorms and on ski trips, even on ice!) and the provided 185/40/17 Contis which were stock, and came with the car. Not a rattle in 10K miles. Dealer service impeccable. Id buy another one..

I owned Benz E320, BMW528 but Ive never met like A6 2.7T AWD. I love its everything. You must be happy with it. I guarantee it!

  • A6 3.0 is good to go - 2002 Audi A6

The 3.0 isnt the fastest, but definetly an excellent package for the money. It has good power and handles very well. Its heavy enough to give a smooth ride. Its large enough to for three child seats, which isnt the norm, but has happened. It comes well equiped and is a definite eye catcher with a sexy set of chrome wheels and medium profile performance tires.

  • Best Ever - 2002 Audi A6

This is a fabulous car. Luxurious, comfortable, powerful, stylish, and very very responsive. It handles like a sports car but with the comfort of a luxury sedan. Very little lean on twisty roads, great acceleration. Great fun to drive. Best of all, in over 10K miles, zero defects noted -- nothing, nichts, nada.

  • 2003 A6 3.0 Quattro - 2002 Audi A6

I am coming out of a Toyota Avalon and have never owned a European sports sedan. Looked at Infiniti G35, Acura, Volkswagon, and Lexus. Wanted something more conservative and low key than a BMW. Only have owned for 30 days but so far so good. Dealership worked very hard to earn my business and was much more aggressive on price than I expected. Considered 2.7T model, but prefered the steering wheel radio controls in the 3.0 Quattro.

  • You need one of these - 2002 Audi A6

I looked at the BMW 530 to compare, probably the only truly comparable car, and was not impressed. A6 beat it in styling, luxury and overall comfort (5 series has almost no rear leg room). With the quattro, sport package and 17 inch wheels, this thing is stuck to the road like a roller coaster (the dealer had me take a right turn at about 40 mph, not even a skid). A true sports sedan that screams "class."
