The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.
The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

Nice but... - 1998 Audi A4
By JC - January 7 - 6:20 amNice car if you can afford the high dollar repairs. Ball joints have been a constant problem. Transmission went out completely at 80,000 miles even though the car has been very well cared for and driven lightly.

JD Low Mileage A4 - 2004 Audi A4

Audi maintenance covers everything during warranty and dealers have provided exceptional service. I will buy another Audi in 2009, anxious to see how the trade in value holds.

Good Idea A4 - 2004 Audi A4
By A4FUN - January 2 - 10:00 amIve had my A4 quattro for around 2 months now and Im very happy with this car. I look foward to driving to and from work everyday. This car is just a blast to drive. The 1.8T may not have as much power as the 3.0 but beleive me the car flies when you need it to. Solid construction, great Audi sound system, sharp looking car.

Jetta with the name Audi on the grille - 2008 Audi A4
By WB - January 1 - 3:57 pmI have an 04 Jetta and im completely unhappy with it, probably because I have owned volvos before. I have had this car for about 4 days now and when I get into the car, I feel like I am in the Jetta. The console is still small, with the small cup holders underneath, the ignition jingle never stops until both the driver and passenger have thier sealt belts on, and just all the little things about the Jetta are in A4 that would make you skeptical to pay $41,000 for it. The turbo charger has a delay when u push on the accelerator. I do have to say though, that the seats are comfortable and the styling outside is excellent.

A great ride - 1998 Audi A4
By coloradoquattro - December 30 - 10:35 amThe Audi A4 has been the best car that I have ever owned. It is the perfect balance between performance and economy. I regularly get 30 mpg, but it certainly doesnt drive like an economy car. The turbo gives it power at high altitude that you just cant get with a normally aspirated 4 cylinder engine. Quattro all-wheel drive keeps it on the road in all weather conditions. It has provided 165,000 miles of trouble free driving with only routine maintenance. I havent abused it, but I dont baby it either. Never a dull moment.

By Flyhigh - December 25 - 11:26 amThe 6 spd transmission and the 2.0L engine are totally made for each other, I am getting 37 mpg (7.6L/100km) with commute type driving, which is far better that I expected. I traded an 06 Jetta TDI for this, which would give me 6.2L/100km (45 mpg). But now that diesel is $1.06/L and regular is $.94/l, (yes you can run 87 octane) my cost per KM for fuel is only 2 cents more and I get killer traction with Quattro and Hakapelita that defies description. The car needs more little storage places like the Jetta and an arm rest that can be used along with two cups of Timmys in the holder. This is a drivers car, and worth every penny.

Bad Dealer makes ok car not worth it. - 1998 Audi A4
By steverino - December 25 - 2:00 amCar drives very nicely. After 35k, I have a rattle, and the exhaust system is a problem, but the car handles very well. Not quite as fast as I thought it would be, but pretty fast. The dealer, in Cherry Hill, NJ is terrible. Their services department is too small and unresponsive. They cant figure out problems, and they lie about delays in returning the car. My exhaust has never been right. My hood stinks after short drives. They all know it is an exhaust problem, but they cant fix it. As nice as I have been, they have failed to get it right on three visits.

I love this Car!!! - 2002 Audi A4
By Impressed Driver - December 25 - 2:00 amIm loving every minute I drive this car. Its a superb car. I wish I didnt have to worry about time and mileage. Test drove BMW 3 series, Volvos, Infinitis, VW Passat, but selected the Audi. Great value compared to the others and you get more satisfaction out of it.

Couldnt choose better. - 2007 Audi A4
By Daga22LasVegas - December 21 - 1:50 pmWow! this is in one word what I can say about this car. Im the convertible type of woman and I previously had the bmw z4. After switching this car to Audi I dont think I will ever go back to BMWs. I live in Las Vegas so sun is always here and the convertible just makes sense however from now on even if I live in Alaska I still wouldnt mind having the same car. In the z4 i had to "work" on getting the top latched to the car and here I press a button and it does it all for me, and I mean ALL. Overall I love it and recommend it to anybody out there.
