Overview & Reviews
The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.
The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

All-around best sport wagon - 2002 Audi A4
By colgate13 - October 25 - 2:00 amWhen considering ALL factors, especially performance, styling and price - the A4 comes out heads above the rest. Drive all of the AWD sport wagons(BMW, Volvo, even Subaru, etc.) and decide for yourself. You cant beat the Quattro system. Living in a heavy snow climate (upstate NY) getting dedicated winter tires is a must, but well worth it. I have nothing bad to say about this car.

120 is achieveable - 2004 Audi A4
By audi856 - October 21 - 2:00 amI have gone 120mph in this car twice wont do it again, though, my passengers in the car said the car didnt even feel like it was going that fast. overall the car is awesome, living in the east coast, Quattro is a must and the grip it provides is amazing on the road, other than that the car is a piece of art, I was looking at the 3 series before I got my A4 but, the a4 was the better value and better looking.

Very impressed - 2002 Audi A4
By RSanFran - October 20 - 10:00 amThis is my first Audi and its an awsome car, beautiful exerior design, and high quality build. The car feels elegant and sporty. I love the handling and the power of the car and the overall feel of the drive, it feels solid on the highway. I test drove BMW 3 series, Infiniti G35 and this was definitly the winner. I live in San Francisco and you should see how this car handles those steep city hills and driving through the mountain roads of the Bay Area.

Audi 2002 A4 1.8T - 2003 Audi A4
By BlackA4Audi - October 14 - 10:00 amI love this car. I live up in ohio, where we have all the season to enjoy, and this is the perfect car for it. From blasting through the snow, to opening the sunroof, and flooring it on the freeway on a summer say, this car rocks!

Good car with some extra cost - 2003 Audi A4
By Maximo - October 14 - 1:53 amWow, I will probably buy another Audi, but I will do so more informed. The car is a thrill to drive and relatively good on the gas with out a lead foot. That said it takes premium fuel to push this wagon. Dont believe you can sub 87 octain every now and then, it will foul the spark plugs. If you are a DITYer be careful driving this car on to a hydraulic lift, the sport suspension does not allow enough clearance to prevent high centering. I bought this car used in Oct 06 for about 16.5K two years later it is at least as valuble as what I still owe.

Only Time Will Tell. - 2004 Audi A4
By Bespoke - October 9 - 3:16 amI have only owned this car for about 4 1/2 months. And I love the cars design, material quality and control layout. Im very happy with the handeling and even the rather small engine. But there seems to be issues with the windows and rain sensor, there are a few plastic interior rattles that annoy me. The audio system is terrible (Symphony system). Im not disappointed,

Good/Fun Car! - 2004 Audi A4
By KyMy - October 5 - 3:05 amI have owned Audi for just about a year now! I am the type of person to get over my cars within a year. So far, I am still loving it! It handles great! I love to drive it long distances, due to how comfortable it is. It was between the BMW 325 CI or this and I am so glad I choose this car!

Close but no Cigar - 2003 Audi A4
By Fiveplay - October 3 - 2:00 amI purchased this car in May 02. One of the major selling points has to be free maintenance 4 yr/50,000 miles. Well, let me tell you, it will come in handy. My experience with the dealership has been pleasant overall, but when I spend $35,000 for a car, I expect it to be reliable. At this price, my car shouldnt be laid up at the shop for 2 weeks. Do yourself a favor...let AUDI work out the bugs on this car and if you have your heart set on one, then by all means get behind the wheel. It is a solid, sporty and very safe car. You wont be disappointed.

Great Sporty Sedan ! - 2003 Audi A4
By Henryd - October 3 - 2:00 amStill waiting for my 03 A4 3.0L. Test drove CVT, Quattro and Cab models with both 1.8L and 3.0L engines. I think the CVT is a great concept but its not ready yet. There are some hesitations with transmission, sometimes made me feel being out of control with the car while stopping or trying to quickly accelerate. 1.8L engines are underpowered and need to be phased out. However, 3.0L w/Quattro is a totally different car as far as the feel of driving goes ! The engines sound alone makes me feel driving a powerful car. The acceleration is nice and the car sticks to the road no matter what. 3.0L engine is the only option with A4 as far as Im concerned.
