Model Overview:

The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.

The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

The new Audi A4 is perhaps the best of what Audi has produced. The German definition of engineering continues to be distinct with safety first and foremost. This car is fun to drive and I expect Audi to improve on its interior functionality in the next few years. For us larger drivers a better designed front seat would be appreciated. No doubt the quattro all wheel drive system ranks at the top in winter weather. If you are comparing models this is one you have to try.

  • Total pleasure to drive, and beautiful - 2009 Audi A4

I love to drive this car. Its the Prestige with nav and drive select. The handling is unbelievable, combined with a truly solid ride and plenty of power. I was concerned at first whether the car would have sufficient power for my lead foot, but it certainly does, especially in sport mode. You just need to punch it -- with a turbo, one needs to use more pedal than with a non-turbo 6 cyl. The gadgets are wonderful: Nav, bluetooth, Sirius radio, backup parking beeper and camera. The Bang & Olufsen sound system is fabulous, worth the extra. I took the car on a 3000 mile trip. One barely notices getting to high speed, very solid, esp. with dynamic mode. Radar detector needed!

The car is fun to drive on mountain roads for me and nice to drive to church for my wife. As she says, it just goes right along. The interior is beautiful and apparently well put together. But it creaks more than our 1987 Acura Integra did.

Was looking for an A4 or 325. heres what i found with 2 similarly equipped cars (both with sport pkg, prem pkg, auto, xenon): -BMW WINS: 1. BMW inline 6 2. power seats w/ memory. no excuse for this not being available on the 1.8T. -AUDI WINS: 1.styling (this is close). 2.interior. we got a dolphin gray exterior and a "platinum" interior. Beautiful. 3. various features...in-dash 6-CD changer, standard. dual-zone climate control. 4. Price. (diff of $3000) 5. 4-yr free maintenance. however, BMW has matched this for their 2003 models

  • Just an exceptional joy to drive - 2007 Audi A4

I have had this car for 4 months and every day I seem to find a new reason to like it better than the day before. It is a beautifully refined vehicle and the interior along with the convertible top is a marvel. The engine is smooth although maybe a little noisy and the 6-speed auto transmission is very refined. I wish the gas mileage were a little better, but that is the compromise to have Quattro, I guess. I have pretty much every available option and I think this is the reason the car is such a marvel... nothing to do but drive and enjoy.

  • Give it time.. - 2003 Audi A4

I loved my 99 A4 but it was coming off lease and I could get a good deal on the newer model. I am not dissapointed I made the move. The 3.0 engine in the new car is faster, smoother, and quieter than the older model. However, it takes time for the engine to break in. I kept hearing people say that but it is true. After 3500 miles the car just feels effortless. The engine has a nice growl. It does seem to run with more gusto on different manufactuers gasoline. My car prefers the Mobil in my area. People love the look of this car. It gets compliments all the time.

I have driven a lot of cars in my life time... And I have always been into performance...(Owner of a nostagia Top Fuel Dragster that does 5s in the 1/4 mile) But My Audi A4 is just a blast to drive... Comfort, and luxury is second to none... And the service I get with valet parking... My corvette only dreamed of such showcasing....

This is my second Audi (prev 4000CS) and am pleased with the way the car has performed. I first bought the auto in Seattle and had shipped to Europe (wanted US specs) and had it up to 128 mph. It drove flawless on the Autostrata! I purchased with the Phatbox and so I can enjoy my MP3s. The leatherette seats hold up better than the real leather seats my friend purchased with his Audi A4. Only big issue is that you must change the extended oil religeously with the turbo motor as it will cook the oil in the return pipe and cause the warning light to come on. Its a costly fix so beware. Overall the car is joy to drive when I can get away from my wife. Economical yet has power. Love it!

  • its a very decent choice - 2003 Audi A4

picking a car is similar to when you are about to ask a girl out =) I have to admit~ive looked around~you consider all the options and test drive all of them because these are not a cheap car. I have to say,you can not make a wrong choice with modles. But you have to ask yourself, what are the key things that you really want? I bought a Audi because its cheaper than bmw 3 and you get a lot more for the money, which includes 4 wheel drive system. I have yet to determine if i made the right choice or not~based on the reliability of this car. the key! research~research~and test drive all of them
