Overview & Reviews
The entire Audi lineup receives a new 4-year/50,000-mile limited warranty and no-charge scheduled maintenance, a 12-year limited warranty against corrosion perforation, and 24-hour roadside assistance for four years. All A4s are now equipped with head protection airbags, have lengthier oil change intervals and an optional Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP). The 1.8T engine gets a horsepower boost from 150 to a racy 170 and meets ULEV standards.
- Available quattro all-wheel drive, powerful 1.8T motor, attractive exterior styling.
- Confusing dash layout, not much rear legroom, quattro version can feel lethargic.

so far so good - 2001 Audi A4
By Eric 1 - June 21 - 2:00 amI am a guy who keeps his cars for over 10 years if possible, I was concerned that the Audi would not hold up. It is a bit early to say, but it is going well so far. I will have to replace the tires as there is a slow leak and I had to change the CD player (at no cost) but otherwise all is well. The car seems to be somewhat noiser that it use to be. I hope it holds up for a another 8 years !!! Eric

Buyer Beware - 2001 Audi A4
By evilpettingzoo27 - May 30 - 2:00 amIve only owned the car for a few months and have had it die on me twice. All 2001 Audis have faulty engine coils, mine have broken twice already and supposedely have now all been replaced with new non-faulty coils. In the process a tow truck ripped off my front spoiler and I fought with them for over two moths for replacement compensation. My dealership was unsympathetic and useless. I bought the car based on reliability and customer service, I have found both to be completely lacking and unsatisfactory. Never buy an Audi without the original warranty remaining. Instead, go buy a Lexus or Acura, thats what Ill be doing next.

love it - 2001 Audi A4
By Brian12345 - February 28 - 2:00 amThe car has been very reliable, and I have had no major problems. It handles great it is fun to drive on twisty roads, and is good in snow as well. Power is very good considering actual displacement of engine, but it isnt as torquey as say a Volkswagen VR6 or a BMW inline 6. Mileage is good -- I get 28 mpg on the highway going 80 mph. Very nice looking inside and out.

Dont Buy This Car! - 2001 Audi A4
By RyanC - November 27 - 2:00 amI bought a 2001 A4 in Sept. of 2001 and it has given me nothing but problems. In a little over a year I have had a laundry list of problems ranging from engine problems (cylinder coil, faulty oil pump, problems with the turbo, etc.) to safety problems (faulty air bag) to just plain annoying problems like a leak in my rear windshield, leak in the washer fluid system, bad CD player, buttons on the console that stopped working, and an ashtray that doesnt open! It seems ive been driving a rental more than my own car. If I wanted to drive a Ford Escort I would have bought one! DONT BUY AN AUDI!!

2001 Audi Wagon 1.8 - 2001 Audi A4
By M. - October 5 - 10:00 amI had wanted an Audi wagon for awhile. I did a lot of research on the car. I did finally end up purchasing one and overall, I have enjoyed driving it. Some issues that I have sadly encountered are: I had to have a new transmission after owning it for 1 month! The sunroof has an awful vibration unless the two back windows are rolled down some. If you purchase the sport package as I did, the tires create a lot of wind noise!

Disappointing - 2001 Audi A4
By Eds A4 - December 16 - 10:00 amThe car breaks down, the dealers cant figure out how to fix them, and Audi cant supply the parts. In addition, the resale value drops like a stone after purchase. Dont do it.
