Overview & Reviews
The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.
The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

Nice car but get extended warranty - 2005 Audi A4
By peaceandloveca - August 31 - 12:48 amI have a 2005 Audi A4 Convertible 3.0. I LOVE MY CAR! The only thing is that when you have issues, its EXPENSIVE! I bought my Audi with 60K miles on it in 2008. Yes, quite a bit of miles on it already, but it looked brand new. I paid $23K out which incl a 4 year/100K mi warranty. I had to replace the transmission computer but that was covered under Audi warranty (just for CA I was told). No coverage - looking at almost $2K! There are too many electrical "gadgets" on this car NOT to have an extended warranty unless you buy new. Other then a blown fuse that controlled the top and trunk (only $2.99 for a pack of fuses) and the start of a coolant leak (yikes) no issues. I currently have 77K mi.

Safe & Solid - 2006 Audi A4
By audilover - August 28 - 3:51 pmWell balanced road manners. The quattro system is amazing in the snow. Very stable on wet roadways. Full size spare tire is a plus. Very comfortable seats. Heating and a/c controls are too complicated. Fit and finish inside and out is of a very high quality. My A4 came with every available option. I have put 98,000 miles on it since I purchased new in 04/2006. Maintenance can be expensive. I get 30mpg average city/highway. Have gotten 36mpg on a long trip. Adaptive xenon headlights are ok but kind of gimmicky. Had to have them replaced under warranty. Timing belt requires replacement at 110,000 miles. I just had mine done at 90,000miles. Cost was $1,600.

2003 A4 Quattro 3.0L - 2003 Audi A4
By monsterrider - August 25 - 8:42 amIve owned the car since new and now have 125,000 miles on it. Fuel pump was replaced under recall and everything else has been just routine service. No problems whatsoever. Gas mileage averages about 25 - 26 on the highway. Quattro is great in all weather conditions. Comfortable interior, excellent stereo, Xenon headlamps make night driving easy. This has been an excellent car.

Awesome 3.0 Quattro 6 Speed Sport Pack - 2004 Audi A4
By acadianbob - August 22 - 2:00 amThis A4 is undoubtedly the best all around car that we have ever owned. Zero defects so far. The Quattro system and ESP are unbelievable in slippery conditions. These systems also assert themselves in the dry; impervious to crosswinds; dead steady if you nail the throttle on a freeway cloverleaf. This car inspires confidence. The build quality is great. Complaints; poor fuel mileage and poor outward visibility. The outside mirrors are too small.

Great little car - 2002 Audi A4
By Lyle H. - August 21 - 12:55 pmI originally bought the 5sp. manual Audi A4 1.8t used with 95,000 miles on the odometer. 15 minutes after driving it away from the dealer, the car nearly broke down, so we drove it back and they replaced an engine coil and all was fine. I went about 10,000 miles with an oil change every 3k miles, and one day when I started it up the engine was acting funny and the check engine and oil light came on, indicating that there were signs of oil sludge buildup, which I read is quite common in the 1.8t, due to design flaw. Now, the radio acts up. However I love this car regardless. Such a fun, attractive, luxurious little car.

Nothing Like It - 2007 Audi A4
By DG - August 18 - 2:50 amThis is my 8th leased Audi. Love the brand. The 3.2 Cab is a great car to drive. Ive had Porsche and BMW convertibles and nothing can compare to the amazing roof this Audi has. Its canvas, but virtually silent even when driving at 80 mph. I dont know how the engineers did it, but wind noise is kept at a minimum. Handling is much better than the old cabs. It seems stiffer and the turn-in is quicker. Brakes are awesome and inspire confidence. Got it in Alpaka Beige, cream interior and tan room. Its a very nice looking car, even with the new Audi gap-mouth grille. You get used to that fairly quickly. I highly recommend the 3.2.
