Model Overview:

The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.

The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

  • Absolutely love my 1.8T Ultra Sport - 2004 Audi A4

I looked very hard at the Volvo S60, Acura TL, and BMW 3 series. Audi without a doubt offered the best bang for the buck and in my opinion, nothing beats the A4s handling with Quattro. Plus once I got a look at the Ultra Sport package that sealed the deal. I can not count how many times people have commented on the look of my car. I have had the car 2 months now and have not had a single problem. Finally, I am very impressed with the gas mileage.

This is my third Audi A-4. The 2002 upgrade/update is impressive. Every detail is significantly improved. For the price (under $30,000), there is no better car (and that includes the BMW 3- series, Infiniti G35, Lexus IS300, Saab 9-3, and Volvo S60--my wife has one of those). I love it. Plus, the warranty is better than anyones. Read the fine print. In short, if you can find one, BUY IT!!! I have driven over 100,000 in my A-4s so I know what I am talking about. Dr. Keller

Sport package is factory lowered. Factory tires (Dunlop SP 9090) are not the best for the snow even in all wheel drive A4. 235/45/17 all weather are pricy, but 2003 models offer Pirrelli 4 season tires that are awesome for any conditions. 2002 chips to increase boost (over 200hp and 240 toprque) are still in development by many vendors. Some offer them, but be carefull

  • The 2005 Is A Mess & Ive Had Two! - 2005 Audi A4
    By -

This car is a piece of @#&*! Ive had two 2005s. The first one made a noise so bad people in the lane next to me remarked. The dealer, no help from Audi, gave me a new one for another $1,500 bucks. The new one had the check engine light appear under 300 miles. The shop had it for 5 days, delivered it and the engine light appeared again. My service shop has put more miles on the car delivering it to me then Ive put on the car driving it. Under 500 miles and its going back tomorrow. This is a new identical car. The first one was a turbo, transmission, electrical mess. Audi refuses to stand behind their auto. Maybe your dealer will as good as mine and help you. Buy at your own risk.

  • One of the best cars. - 2003 Audi A4

The difference between german cars and any other country that manufactures cars( we will use american car companioes) is like night and day. Everything from performance to the paint job is significantly better with german cars. After driving german cars i feel that i cant go back. It all begind with the new Continuiously Variable Tranmision that is smooth as butter. Hard accelerating results in the smoothest up shifts. The tiptronic engine combined with the CVT and the turbocharger make this unbeatable for the price. The interior is just as nice. With full leather and the latest technology this car could be your home.

  • A beautiful day - 2002 Audi A4

I have owned many Audis and the new 02 A4 is a work of art. I tested and looked at many cars in the category and came back to Audi in the end. Highly recommended.

  • The lemon - 2003 Audi A4

I have never been so disappointed with a car in all my life. I dont understand why it is rated so well by the auto media. After leasing this thing for a 18 months Im ready for a change. Handles poorly in city, difficult to park. The alarm system did not deter vandals. The entire transmission had to be replaced after the original completely failed! I have no faith in this vehicle. One of the primary reasons I got this car was safety. Now I no longer have faith that the airbags will deploy if I have a collision.

  • Oil Consumption fixed - 2010 Audi A4
    By -

I had this car at 37,000 miles certified preowned. Dealer tried to convince me that oil consumption (quart every 1000 miles ) is normal with turbo which is complete bullsh.... It was repaired at the warranty since I didnt believed and never stopped complaining. " Under the settlement agreement, current owners or lessees who have not already paid to have repairs made will be entitled to a replacement of the crankcase pressure regulating valve, front crankshaft seal and front crankshaft bolt. Additionally, the engine control module software will be updated to match the new part(s). The agreement also gives owners and lessees an extended warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles to 8 years/80,000 miles (whichever occurs first) to cover any repair needed to correct excessive engine oil consumption. Audi will also reimburse any affected owners of the 2009-2011 Audi A4, Audi A5 and the 2011 Audi Q5 for parts and labor on any previous repairs made for oil consumption problems." Since than I have no problem. I used fully synthetic oil from Europe "Elf" every 10,000 miles and i am not adding even one drop of oil between intervals. Love the car. I hope to keep it for next 100,000 miles. I changed Air filters, micro filter and Spark plugs two times. I am getting 30 or more mpg on Hwy and 27 in the city. Great car!!!! Next one i am getting is AUDI A4...
