Model Overview:

The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.

The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

  • A4 is way better than a 330i - 2004 Audi A4

Complements is what you get from this car. Once you start to drive this car off the lot you will notice the extreme smoothness of the engine and transmission. Not to mention the handling is a true pleasure. I have really tested this car out now for the past six months and I have been able to keep up with M3’s on the 110 between downtown and Pasadena. In the LA rain you have the full confidence of Quattro and stability control. If you haven’t ever driven Quattro in the rain, well you’re missing out on some serious traction. The upgraded Bose system is so crisp and ear piercingly loud. People who know cars buy Audi who don’t buy BMW.

This is a car that is fun to drive. It has exeptional cornering ability. The brakes let you stop on a dime. I like the precision in the steering it is tight and exact. I also like the built- in antenna in the rear window. One less item to cause problems.

  • Good, but could be better - 2002 Audi A4

The 1.8T in the quattro, automatic is lethargic. Audi really needs to boost up the HP to make it a pleasing ride. The car is solid and handles great, but just too darn slow,,push the gas and it doesnt want to move!!!! Driver needs mopre leg room , its too cramped and I am of average height and weight.

  • So far - 2009 Audi A4

I wish this car had better MPG. Thats my only complaint so far. Its competitive with others, but Im finding closer to 26/27 on the highway versus 30/31 as dealerships tend to suggest youll get, rather than the numbers listed on the window. Then again, who trusts car dealerships. I find the front seat very very comfortable and since I do a lot of highway driving, this is a big plus.

  • Excellent Car, fun to Drive - 1999 Audi A4

In auto, the car is somewhat doggish from the start, and even in 1st gear manual mode it takes off a bit slow. Once it shifts into 2nd, it is pretty good. That little 4 cylinder does the job. It is not as smooth as the 2.8, however it is not so noticeable at higher speeds. Once this thing wakes it cruises like a much larger engine. The mileage however is similar to my 6 cyl engines in the city, averaging between 18 and 24 mpg depending how you drive. I can get 34 mpg! When doing between 100-115 for a couple hours straight, I will average around 26-28. Mileage could be better for a small engine, but you are pushing a heavy car with 4 wheel drive with it.

  • Nothing but good things to say - 2002 Audi A4

I finally stumbled upon the new A4 and fell in love at once. I have always liked the styling, but Audi has been weak in performance and I almost didnt even give the car a second look. The increased horsepower has made this car a dream to drive. The interior is meticulous German engineering and provides an environment that is comfortable and refined, yet not overdone. The AWD capabilities make this a perfect all around automobile. I have been nothing but pleased with the car over the past 8 months.

  • Excellent Car!!!!! - 2004 Audi A4

After 4 MBZ SLKs my Audi is a much needed change. I almost forgot what a car in this class was suppose to be! Excellent ride, handling and fit! It is easy to see the outstanding attention to detail Audi has by the interior. Only one less than perfect comment - the cupholders. The in-dash holder does not hold cups correctly and falls out. The arm rest holders are, well, in the arm rest! Not very useable! However since this is my only less than perfect comment..I think I can live with it!

Fun to drive. Great handling in tight turns and high speeds, great mileage, interior is very well styled and audio system is good. Beautiful exterior design, and center panel is awesome, glows red when lights are turned on.
