Overview & Reviews
Audi introduces the 1.8T Avant wagon to its lineup, while other A4 models gain standard equipment and new options.
- Torque-laden turbo four is a hoot to rev hard. Comfortable interior, great handling, stellar design, optional all-wheel drive and optional Tiptronic automanual transmission are pluses.

Dont Do It - As Much As You May Want To - 1999 Audi A4
By Kansas Joe - July 20 - 11:57 pmI love how this car drives. And the body style still holds up even though it is six years old. The handling, power and quality of the interior design are all pluses. But the lack of mechanical reliability is a huge negative. Ive spent over $6,000 in repairs since purchasing this car just over 3 years ago. Repairs include - new oxygen sensors, water pump/timeing belt, ABS control module, brake rotors, etc. Ive had it - and will be selling this car soon.

Falling Apart - 1999 Audi A4
By Concerned Jonny - November 21 - 2:00 amLoved the car when I bought it but friends warned me to get rid of an Audi after 50k miles. How true! The door handle latch broke recently and then the water pump seized and left me stranded on the highway. Suggest that future prospects think hard about status vs. reliability. Me? Im buying another Subaru. They DONT fall apart.

A cute, exciting lemon - 1999 Audi A4
By jedison - November 2 - 2:00 amThis car is lots of fun to drive and the front seats are reasonably comfortable. The rear seats are really only for children and small adults. Unfortunately, as soon as this car came out of warranty numerous problems cropped up. Audi USA has been nothing short of terrible in terms of responding to our concerns. No more audis for us. I would suggest only purchasing this car with an extended warranty that includes coverage for gaskets and leaks.

Huge Disappointment - 1999 Audi A4
By coldhart - July 11 - 2:00 amWish Id stuck with the BMW. This car has been nothing but trouble from day 1. Transmission replaced before 1K miles, windshield cracked (sitting in a garage), air conditioning controls failed, instrument cluster unit failed, windshield washer pump, transmission again, squeaks & rattles that cant be fixed.......

German Nightmare!!!!!!!!!! - 1999 Audi A4
By Ollie McGrath - February 3 - 10:00 amStay away from this car! The control arms are a poor design and need to be replaced every 30,000 miles. $600 job!!! Audi has created a great recurring revenue stream for themselves. Buy a BMW, SAAB,Volvo, or even buy a Ford before you buy this poorly designed piece of JUNK!
