Model Overview:

The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.

The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

  • I can not recomend this Car - 2001 Audi A4

56000 miles Failed and paid for by Audis warrenty: Temp sensor & gauge Steering colum and rack Turn Signal cluster Clock spring Digital display in dash coil pack oil pump oil pick tube this all totaled $4000.00 in repairs that Audi picked up most. This is not uncommon research audiworld.com for the problems others are having. Look elsewhere for a reliable car

  • Too Good to be TRUE - 2005 Audi A4

Car delivered last week. What an wonderful car!! Makes my old Sebring seem like a bucket of bolts. Great styling, ride, comfort, and lots of compliments and looks from everyone. Audi promised alot and delivers even more. This car truely makes you want to get up in the morning and go for a drive. If you are looking for a class car and dont want to be just another Joe in a Beamer or Benz...this is the car for you. I even got praise from my father-in-law who is the worlds biggest car critic! Lt. Silver metalic with black interior is a real head turner. V6 delivers exceptional power across all ranges. Lots of toys and comfort features. The interior quality is to die for!

  • This car is a major disappointment - 1997 Audi A4
    By -

Always trusted German engineering and reliability, but this car is a complete disappointment. Regular maintenance and repairs would cost you an arm and a leg. Audi dealerships are not the best to deal with. My cars engine CRACKED at 80K (no hard driving) and the dealership had no idea that it cracked but suggested a whole list of other repairs. Paid them for the useless repairs and at the end they simply told me that a new engine is what I needed.

  • Still great after all these years - 1999 Audi A4
    By -

Ive owned this car since bought new in late 1998, and I remaian as pleased as when I purchased it. No mechanical issues despite nearly 60,000 commute miles, and it has held up well consmetically as well. My daughter looks forward to when it can be her car (in five years when she gets her license!)

  • Turbo Lagging - 2003 Audi A4
    By -

Very dangerous Turbo Lag. BEWARE the 1.8T with the Auto-trans. Step on the pedal, and nothing happens... then, count to 2, and the turbo kicks in. By that point, you could be in big trouble! The delay is very dangerous! Audi should be ashamed to offer a vehicle with this amount of turbo lag. I sold mine after 6 months of frustration.

  • A Superb Package... - 2005 Audi A4
    By -

The new Audi A4 2.0T quattro is a big improvement over the 1.8T. The engine is very strong and has a lot of low-end torque. It is very quiet. It feels like the old A6 in ride quality and roominess. It has comfort, economy, typical Audi fit and finish. The tiptronic transmission in Sport mode allows the engine to redline, and it is surprisingly fast. This car is extremely comfortable, has good fuel economy, quattro, big brakes and is great looking....it is the best A4 yet.

  • Love At 1st Sight! - 1999 Audi A4

Why buy a rear wheel drive BMW when you can get an AWD Audi? Great value for what youre paying for. Quattro is a god send in snowy New England. The Bose Sound System is a gem! 6 Disk changer in the trunk in only a minor inconvenience. The interior is comfortable and stylish. My friends cant get over all the gadgets to play with, expecially the heated front seats. The exterior design is beautiful as it is. Who really needs a spoiler or body kits anyway? The certified warranty it came with is decent (100,000 or 2 years). I would recommend this car to anyone!

  • Best 4 door sedan in its class! - 2003 Audi A4
    By -

My A4 has been nothing but fun to drive. Im getting 29 miles to the gallon which is more than I thought Id get. This car handles the S-curve on ramps like a dream-just down shift to 3rd or 4th, no brakes, press the gas and go. Many a times the hair on the back of my neck has stood up in amazement as to what this car can do.

  • Better than BMW - 2003 Audi A4
    By -

This is by far the most beautifully designed stationwagon on the market. I looked at Saab (too expensive), Volvo (no performance features), BMW (the 3-series is to small and the 5-series is over-priced), and the Ford Focus (well ...). The A4 Avant is a good value for $30,000, it will serve our family well and at the same time be fun and exciting to drive in the years ahead

  • Luxury Rag Top - 2004 Audi A4
    By -

I am thrilled with my new Audi. I have had convertibles before, but nothing like this! It is awsome. Would love to have the bigger engine, but the 1.8 tubo is hot with the tiptronic transmission. The Moro Blue Pearl with the dark blue top is gorgeous. This car is a great cruiser for my Smoky Mountains.
