Overview & Reviews
The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.
The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

My favorite car, ever. - 2001 Audi A4
By sar21102 - September 22 - 2:00 amI chose the A4 over the BMW 3-series because you get so much more for your money. Ive never regretted it. It handles great, has excellent pickup, and, with the Quattro AWD, I am safe and glued to the road. Fit and finish are tight, and theres a feeling of solidity. I think the 1.8T is one of the best small engines ever made. Ive never had a disabling mechanical problem. There was a recall for replacement of faulty coils, but I never had the faulty coils. Reliability has been excellent.

BACK TO THE DEALER - 2002 Audi A4
By DUMPTHEAUDI - September 20 - 2:00 amMy wife has owned this vehicle for about a year and its been back to the shop 14 times. We have decided to get rid of the thing. Its got 11000 miles on it. What a complete disappointment this vehicle has been. I have never owned such an unreliable vehicle in my life. Back to Toyota.

not so overwhelmed - 2001 Audi A4
By shidinger - September 11 - 10:00 amI think part of the problem is that i had built this car up in my head during the 4 month period i was waiting to receive delivery of it. the 1.8t, although peppy required a chip to satisfy me. my older vr6 put a much bigger grin on my face. other than that. the car has really loosed up quite a bit. which is very disappointing for a $32,000 car with all the tricks and german engineering.

I love this car! - 2001 Audi A4
By Absalom Mori - September 9 - 2:00 amThe A4 is an excellent combination of performance and comfort in a smaller car. With the addition of the Bridgestone Pole Position ties this car drives like it is on flypaper, especially on sweeping curves where many BMW driver has only the view of my four rings disappearing in the distance ahead of them. :)
