Model Overview:

The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.

The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

I have 42,000 miles in less than 2 years and not a single problem. It still handles and rides as well when it was new. It handles very well in bad weather conditions. The dealer has done all maintainence. I have a long commute everyday to work, but this car makes that commute easily. The interior and exterior design still impresses.I plan on keeping this car for as long as I can. Recently I had to drive a friends Lexus IS300 and that doesnt even compare.

For the price a great car. Wish the cd changer was more random but that is the only thing I would improve

  • awesome so far - 2004 Audi A4

The car has performed perfectly so far. The dealer was very accomodating in the only service needed. This is my third Audi and the build quality has definitely improved. The car feels a lot more luxurious than a C class Mercedes and much more fun to drive.

When its running well, its a great car. Handles great, plenty of power, it feels both sporty and safe. Its also quiet and comfortable. But the cars had one electrical problem after another. Its had 4(!) gas guage sensors, and needs another, among an assortment of other problems that were either fixed under warranty, or are not being fixed because the cost of fixing them is prohibitive. Every trip for maintenance is a $1500-2000 excursion. I think Ill go for a Toyota next time.

I bought a 2003 1.8T A4 just over a year ago and I still love my car. Its a fun car to drive while maintaining some functionality that I need. I would recommend this car to anyone considering buying one. I would also recommend getting the ECU reprogrammed by APR to improve the performance.

  • You are in for a treat! - 2004 Audi A4

While searching for a new car, I looked at the 3-series, G35, and A4. I have not regretted my decision! Gearshifts are flawless, turbo gives me power when I need a boost, road grip and driver response are excellent, craftmanship is first rate, aesthetically pleasing (inside and out), standard sound system is better than BMWs harmon kardon premium, excellent warranty (1st pair of brake pads, oil changes, servicing are all free), and its turning radius helps me corner through the small streets in SF! I test drove the 3.0 as well and besides the 0-60 and top-line acceleration, there is little difference.

This is an excellent vehicle. Got the 1.8T 6 speed manual Quattro with the sport package. Car has great pickup if you rev. the engine up to 3000 rpms. Could use more low end torque and a few extra horsepower (225 Turbo would be perfect). Was thinking about the 3.0, but would lose that horsepower in higher elevation (I live in CO). The car is solid, and has an excellent interior. Have had it for 3 1/2 months now and no problems. Bose sound system is great. Leather interior feels great, and the car handles like a dream. The car grips the road like no other, even in the rain. Let the snow fall!

Although pretty to look at, and fun enough to drive, the design shortcomings and limited features quickly became tiresome. Mediocre fit and finish was just the beginning of our experience with a car that went back for repair over and over. What started out as chasing rattles and loose trim lead to a noisy undercarraige and a replaced transmission. The dealer did all the warranty work with a smile, but we took the hint and traded it in for another brand car, built in a whole different country. The car is fine for a test drive, but soon disappoints.

  • Sweet 2005 ultrasport package - 2005 Audi A4

This is my first Audi and I chose it over the 325xi, c-class, acura TL. AWD is amazing and the turbo gives plenty of torque and power, however another 30-40 hp would be better. Interior was the best out of the cars I test drove. Only had car for 2 weeks, hopefully no problems down the road. This car gets double takes all the time. Ultrasport package is a must if you are really into looks and tighter suspension.
