The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.
The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

New to Audi - 2001 Audi A4
By s-hiem - September 28 - 2:00 amPurchased a pre-owned 2001 A4 1.8t Quattro. Sales experience: Best Ive ever had. Audi of Mendham, NJ, was fantastic in every respect and exceeded my expectations. Also looked at Infinity I30, Lexus ES300 and Acura TL. Infinity was more luxury oriented but dealership was beyond horrible (Lynnes in Bloomfield, NJ). Lexus was too expensive and the 2002 model made the 2001 look like crap (styling changes). Acura was great but exterior styling for 2001 was bland. The Car: Have to get used to turbo power coming on, but it does. Feels very luxurious, yet sporty enough to keep you "cool". Grips the road with confidence. Small interior can be a problem

German cars: Love Em! - 2001 Audi A4
By golfguy777 - September 28 - 2:00 amThis has been a great car for us. It is a lot of fun to drive and everyone at the dealerships go above and beyond to service their customers. Weve had the car for almost four years now and all that weve had to do is have the oil changed, which is included in the warranty. Owning our first Audi has been a great experience and I often recommend the A4 to others.

Better mileage and bang for your buck than any Benz or BMW out there. For $40k with most of the upgrades, this baby rocks. Black and beige is a babe magnet.

By ZCT - September 21 - 6:11 pmI just had the misfortune of renting this car for a week. Wow, what a joke. I had the base model with the S-Line package and a few extras like navigation. The car was wholly unpleasant to drive. The CVT an obvious annoyance, the interior, instrumentation and controls utterly mediocre and old fashioned. It wasnt antiquated like a Subaru, but it seemed like a step down from even a VW, which is inexcusable for the cost. Everything about the driving experience made me completely puzzled as to why anyone would cross shop with this a similarly priced BMW 3 Series and pick this Audi. Im not a BMW fanboy or anything, but the two vehicles are incompatible in driving experience, and yet they are about the same price. Audi is supposed to be the premium arm of VW, and yet frankly this car is so easily bested in this segment by so many alternatives. Thank goodness that the 2017 model is a complete redesign.

Exceptional - 2001 Audi A4
By iofreeze - September 19 - 2:00 amThis car is exceptional in most every way. Classic AUDI handling/cornering coupled with the luxurious appointments. What I really like about this vehicle that no one speaks about is the TURBO aspect. It can be changed out with an aftermarket configuration and squeeze out much more performance with ease. It is not unrealistic to get 325+ hp out of this vehicle. Overall I think the AUDI A4 is absolutely beautiful.

Excellent Vehicle - 2004 Audi A4
By jb1170 - September 18 - 2:00 amI have owned this vehicle for a year now. It performs beautifully, and gets great mileage. Fun to drive around town, performs great on the highway, and is extremely quick for a 4 cyl with the tip-tronic transmission. If you can push a button, then you know how to use the top. Comes standard with numerous comfort options. If you are interested in a convertable in this category then I highly recommend looking at this vehicle. You wont be disappointed.

Great German Automobile - 2002 Audi A4
By cramerpp - September 17 - 2:00 amI purchased a pre-owned A4 and have been thrilled with the car. Additional 2 years of bumber-bumper pre-owned warranty is great. Car rides beautiful. Tight German feel. Hugs the road. The 1.8T has great torque. Could be more powerful, especially with Quattro drive, but gas mileage is great. I switched to synthetic oil and larger capacity filter and have been getting over 30 mpg highway. Car has tons of great features and electronics. Safety is excellent. Ive had no problems with this vehicle and hope to own if for many years. Too bad my wife gets to drive it all the time.

3 Years of Good Performance - 2002 Audi A4
By RBT - September 15 - 2:00 amIts Reliable I have owned this car for 3 years. Until last month, I have never seen the engine until I had to give a lady in an 85 Ford Taurus a jump. I highly recommend Free maintenance. To illustrate My best friend has a 01 Civic, over two years, he has paid $19-$29 for 14 oil changes. $690 in repairs and tune-up cost and $60 for tire rotation. I have paid $109 for two rotations after Three years! The service plan is flawless. Everything is free, oil, brakes, anything except gas. Free maintenance for 50K miles, how can you go wrong? That said, It does need attention but every car does there is no such thing as a maintenance free car..
