Overview & Reviews
The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.
The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

Fun to drive - 2004 Audi A4
By ron from nh - October 7 - 2:00 amThe Audi A4 might not be tops in its class in any one category, but the overall blend of style, performance, and exceptional handling make it a blast to drive. In six months of driving, I just havent found a thing not to like about the car.

fun + functionality = Best Sport Wagon - 2002 Audi A4
By johnnyG - October 6 - 2:00 amLoved my A4 2.8 sedan - but strollers & golf clubs just didnt go well together in the trunk. Found my car thru the great audit certified site and had it shipped. Audi certified program is one of the best out there. Love the service & all problems to date corrected without jumping thru hoops. As for the car - a blast to drive, looks great inside and out. as a coworker told me - "your car LOOKS fast" - and it is. Perfect alternative to those small suvs - all wheel drive piece of mind for our northeast winters, and room inside and ontop for your "toys".

Former Jetta owner - 2004 Audi A4
By VFG/Dahlgren - October 6 - 2:00 amGlad I got the 6 speedM. Very Fun to drive, great fit/finish, great looking especially the interior. Drags a bit in the low end but keeping it reved up helps and on the highway great acceleration and excellent road handling. Quiet and stereo sounds great. Get the XM sat. especially if you take longer road trips. Best invention since...the Wheel?..well almost. Good storage w convenient rear split. On the bad side..just quibbles really......the cup holders...come on Audi everything else so "german" and sensible. Cupholders in armrest are universally acknowledged/useless M version/dash cupholder should have a red flag warning as cups and bottles leap out!

Very nice, but could use more oomph - 2004 Audi A4
By blicero - October 4 - 2:00 amI find the 1.8t A4 quattro to be a very comfortable and fun car to drive. While not a complete dog, the 1.8 liter four is a little underpowered for this cars weight. The six-speed shifts nicely and helps keep things more lively, but there is no substitute for more grunt. The interior finish is impeccable, the controls work well, and the quattro system helps in the corners. I am concerned about the long- term reliability. My car has just over 1000 miles and is rattling in the back ... I hope it will not be problematic.

Reliability seems like hit and miss... - 1998 Audi A4
By bigaudidriver - October 1 - 2:00 amDid alot of research for this car. I bought it with 40K on the odo. So far, I have 75K and still going strong. Soon as I bought the car, I chipped it and threw in K&N filter. Boosted the output considerably (Need it b/c I have tiptronic, Porsche version). Definately a must if you own this car. About to put in exhaust (surface rusted) and NOS sprayer for intercooler. Handles very well but not too harsh. I do lot of hi-way traveling. Pretty quite for car of this size and sportiness. I love the AWD on this. Drove to ski resort and surprise to find that I can drive 35+mph on them slippery stuff. The ski boot was another neat feature. Didnt know I had it! Gotta like the heated seats^)

This car rocks! - 2007 Audi A4
By rockstarguitars - September 30 - 9:00 amThis thing is soo fun. Ive had an MB C230 before and it cant even compare to my 07 A4 2.0t. Its really fast with the sport mode trans and so easy to drive while maintaining complete control. Awesome brakes too. Sweet sound system and cool lighting while driving at night.

Ive loved this car... - 1999 Audi A4
By mcnorris - September 29 - 10:00 am...its going off lease in 3 months and it will be a sad parting. Luckily the new A4 has a new body style (and hopefully more room in the back seat??) All in all this has been a great car. Very fun to drive, sporty, eye-catching and reliable. Only a couple of minor problems (a timing issue, cruise control switch, and the headlamp washer hose). Highly recommended vehicle.

Hella-cool - 2007 Audi A4
By Hella-cool - September 28 - 1:23 pmSecond A4 Ive owned and it keeps getting better and better. Love the design, the engine, the interior. Still notice the turbo lag but not as pronounced as my 05 A4 1.8L. The car will get up and move when asked and is very responsive, and I love to hear the growl of the engine. Until audi does something really bad to these cars Ill always buy another audi. Will always recommend audi before other luxury cars also.

Unsung Hero - 1998 Audi A4
By Couldnt Afford A S4 - September 28 - 2:00 amBought used 1.5yrs ago with lowish mileage. Been a good car with only one failure that warranty covered. Love the ergonomics, build quality, high quality materials throughout and advanced engine and drivetain design (AWD). Car is a great do everything vehicle, with reasonable performance (0-60 in 7.1 seconds)
