This Year's Model Updates:

The Audi A4 has a few new powertrain options this year for the V6. Specifically, the V6 can now be equipped with a six-speed manual on all-wheel-drive sedans and wagons. The V6 can also be ordered this year for a front-drive A4 sedan with the continuously variable transmission (CVT). The only other significant change this year is the "S-line" name for the sport package.

Pros:
  • Sharp handling
  • Available all-wheel drive
  • Generous maintenance program.
  • Classy, well-constructed interiors
  • Precise steering
Cons:
  • Engines short on low-end torque, tight backseat.

  • Amazing Machine - 2006 Audi A4

Excellent control and styling. Manual, Premium, Sports, Cold Weather, Sunroof, Tech packages. My first Audi, but not my last. Very clean interface and a pleasure to drive. If youre looking for a 0-60 straight line car this isnt it, but if you want to take a few turns after you hit 60 and above then this is your car. Took a road trip to WV just to drive some curves and the car was simply amazing. At low speeds (sub 40) it does well, but the car is in its element above 60. Test drove w/ & w/out sports suspension. Be warned its very smooth w/out it, but youll feel more of the road w/ it. Only worth getting the sports suspension if you plan on driving it hard, Im glad I have it.

  • Hotttt!!!! - 2006 Audi A4

I just traded in my 2005 A4 (old body style) for a new 2.0T fully loaded. Much better purchase. This thing flys, and handles so much better than my old 1.8T. The packages available deliver a much needed update to the technology in the cabin and out. I bought mine fully loaded (I guess I was desperate for features after the bland 2005) with the tech package, nav, bose, sirius... Everything works and its quick to figure out. I love the new engine, it has pep, and is well balanced to a heavy body. Really fun around the sweeping esses, especially in bad weather with quattro! Buy one, its worth it!

  • Fun, fast car - 2006 Audi A4

It is a fun and very fast car. Very eye apealing and turns many heads on the road. Only down side is the turbo doesnt kick in till about 2,500 RPMs so it has a delay for a second in take off speed once you hit the gas. But as soon as the Turbo kicks in it makes up for it.

  • All round great wagon. - 2006 Audi A4

Wanted a wagon that had style and performance. The update added a brand new engine (soon to be found on the new Jetta) and the car comes with a great set of luxury features. Added Premium and Cold Weather Packages, and 17 inch wheels.

  • Wow!!! Best car I drove & get the 6speed - 2006 Audi A4
    By -

I test drove a mustang, 350z, impreza, g35 coupe, etc and bought this amazing A4. I found myself doing 80mph in 3rd gear on the street and shocked on how it jumped (in acceleration). Wow!!! As a gear head at heart I worked on many muscle cars (and subsequently drove them) but again WOW! Of all the options the A4 offers you have to get the S-line package. Its a total aggressive look, 18 inch tires, and sports suspension. Just one drive and you know where that extra dollars were well spent. When buying a car I look at beauty, comfort, speed and most a fun factor. Something I missed with my last vehicle. I have 4 fun factors again now in my drive & its fantastic

  • Best Choice - 2006 Audi A4
    By -

Drove all the others in the category (BMW,Mercedes, Acura). Although not the best in every category, the A4 is by far the most fun to drive. Adding the S-line and the 6M transmission make this car a pure pleasure. The tiptronic is best in class, but the 6M is for people who like to drive. My first Audi, but not my last. I cant imagine how they will improve on this car.

  • 3.2 vs. 2.0T - 2006 Audi A4
    By -

My fouth A4 was a 2006 2.0T 6MT, my first 4 cylinder car in awhile. This machine was neck snapping quick and great fun to drive but the 4 cyl was a bit noisey and coarse for me. I traded it for the 3.26MT [crazy!]and prefer the smoother operation and sweeter engine and exhaust tones. Either is great fun and a relative bargain. For refinement try the 6 cyl. Saving cash the 2.0T is a blast and great on gas.

  • Wish it had DSG - 2006 Audi A4

I used to drive a Passat V6 sedan FWD with auto transmission, and this Audi A4 is significantly better in all respects, but it should be - considering the 6 years and $10,000 list price difference. Havent had any quality problems with the car, it feels very solid and dependable. The manual gearbox is a bit of a clunker, not exactly the quick light box I remember from a 3-series BMW. After 4000 miles it doesnt show much sign of easing up, and gear changes can be a bit rough. Also the steering is a bit heavy compared with a 3-series, but that could I guess be due to the Quattro 4WD? Overall, a very impressive car with a great engine. Goes well and sips fuel.

  • A (may be A+) for Audi - 2006 Audi A4

Bought a Silver-black - 2.0T quattro. Very nice car. Very well done interior. Exterior looks sharp. Remarkable trunk space. All my drum gears fit in! Sure footed and excellent road manners. Comfortable ride and impressive mileage. I still feel that the steering is not as sharp as a BMW3.

  • Love It!!! - 2006 Audi A4

Just got my car less than a month ago and it is pretty much impossible to get me to stop driving it! It is a really fun car to drive and I was much more impressed with it than I was the BMW 3 series.
