The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.
The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

Wifes Ride - 2005 Audi A4
By jrh332 - June 7 - 9:40 amJust bought the Audi 5 days ago so we just have a couple hundred miles experience with it. We bought it to replace a 2002 Cadillac Escalade so this is a major change. This will be my wifes car but I will also drive it when I can get it away from her. This Avant is a turbo 4 6 speed manual. 25+ mpg so far even around town. Xenon lighting is fantastic. Car was loaded with AM/FM CD changer Sirius satellite radio, 17" wheel sports suspention, headlight washers, cold weather package, premium interior. Great handling along with excellent fit and finish sold us on this vehical. Hope we made the right desision.

Fun car to crank miles on... - 2003 Audi A4
By robde - June 6 - 2:00 amI love my dolphin grey A4. I work for succesful software company and deal with stock millionaires and their BMWs. My Audi turns lots of heads in the parking lot...and when I drive it. Car could use some more horsepower, better gas mileage, but I dont want to lose any of the craftsmanship of the interior. The tiptronic is a blast. I rgularly throw my quattro into left, right hand turns at high speeds and it glides on rails. This car drives great in the rain...snow...sun. So far the dealership has treated me like a king and has done all the maintenance without a hitch. Bring it in, pick it up...pay $ZERO.

Great car -- when you modify it - 2000 Audi A4
By ACE - June 4 - 8:35 pmYes, out of the box, this car is a little underpowered. But if you drop in a performance chip and cat-back exhaust the car is very different. I also upgraded the brakes and shocks after the OEM stuff wore out. Ive had fewer problems than most with this car -- Ill admit Im lucky. But I do a lot of preventative maintenance. If you want a car you drive and neglect, get a Toyota or Honda. If you want a car with character, states individuality and is fun to drive, the Audi is it. Only real problem thus far: radio died, but it was replaced under warranty. It took amost 3 months, but it gave me time to listen to the new cat-back exhaust I had just purchased.

By mblumfps - June 2 - 12:56 pmThe car exceeds expectations. Not as hot as the quattro or S4 by any means, it is still very peppy. Rides more solidly than any other comparable convertible (BMW, Saab, Volvo) I tried. Fun, fun, fun

The best car in the world - for me! - 2002 Audi A4

I use to look back after nice cars and think to myself - when am I going to get something like that. Since I got the A4 - a freakin Ferrari can go by me - I am perfectly content - couldnt give a damn.

Great convertible cruiser... - 2003 Audi A4
By pablo_lie - June 1 - 2:00 amThe Audi offers the best cabin by a mile - its interior quality is the best in this company. The only let-down was the persistent creaky noise that came from the convertible top in my test drive car, which had about 3k miles on it. But thats something bound to happen with all convertibles sooner or later, and usually can be fixed with a little WD40. Dynamically, the Audi seems surprisingly sluggish at times. A look at the cars weight figure gives a hint as to why that might be the case. On the other hand, that weight results in a very planted, very good ride. Its the least crashy in this company.

Its an ok car - 2003 Audi A4
By jgold95 - June 1 - 2:00 amI have had the audi for 1 year and i am counting down the months till the lease is over. The Cvt tranny jerks the car on acceleration. Its been in the shop for dumb problems. It goes fast but customer service at dealers is terrible. This is why i got rid of my wifes VW and when this lease is done i will go back to the BMW. If you cant decide between this and a 3 series, spend the extra few thousand for the BMW you will be happier. Dont get me wrong its comfortable, it performs well and gets great gas mileage for a v6 and it looks nice inside and out its just comming from a BMW and going to this is a vast change in a backward direction.

New 3.2 Rules - 2005 Audi A4
By saoc - May 30 - 11:42 pmI just replaced my 02 A6 2.7T with a loaded A4 3.2. I got everything except the tire monitor and the rear parktronic. I looked at the TL, G35, Lexus and just couldnt leave the Audi family. The build quality is so much better than the Japanese cars. Everything in the A4 is so tight. I loved my A6 and had no problems in 41000 miles.
