The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.
The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

By mark0064 - October 8 - 10:00 amWords do not describe how happy I am with this car. For those who complain about mileage, you bought a luxury SPORTS car! If you can afford this, stop crying about gas! Go buy a Kia. And occasional reliability issues? A function of pushing the technology envelope. Look into Audis past youll find more insight in design than any other manufacture. Theyve pioneered most of the great technologies we take for granted in cars today. I bought my Audi not only because its an incredible car, but because I want to support engineers who take bigger risks to create a better product in the end. Audi has found another customer for life.

By Jeff - October 7 - 1:21 amHas been a reliable vehicle. Some niggling deficiencies with the interior build quality few things are a bit too "soft" to the touch and can break easily. Otherwise an excellent vehicle that I will always find pleasure in looking at.

My 4th Audi - 2006 Audi A4
By ArthurG22 - October 1 - 3:30 amThis is my 4th A4. It is by far the best of the lot. Even though the engine only went from 1.8 to 2.0 liters, the performance seemed to increase by a much larger percentage. The acceleration is excellent. The change to the 6 speed transmission is a great feature. The upshifts are seamless and there are no discernible shifting lags. The GPS is easy to use and not difficult to learn. My last Audi A4 was good, this one IS GREAT.

Solid, safe and a blast! - 1999 Audi A4
By JJ - September 27 - 10:09 pmThis car has been better than my Honda ever was and a hell of a lot more fun. Yes a wheel bearing went south at 77k but this is no big deal to me. Almost all cars need timing belts replaced and so am not taking points away because of this. My Accord felt like a tin can flexing its way down the street. I now press into turns rather than slow down as other require.

EXCELLENT - 2003 Audi A4
By Steven C - September 26 - 10:00 amI have driven my car over 26000 miles in one year. Thats the equivolent to 2 years driving...nothing but a pleasure. On the longest drives (8 hours total, non-stop, city/ hgwy) Ive always remained comfortable. During rainy days and at night w/ my xenons, always safe. No engine troubles, no stalling, no electrical problems. Fit & finish are great, as well as all the non-gadgetty gadgets. Although I would prefer better gas mileage, the comfort & prestige and head turning design make it all worthwhile and gives a huge level of satisfaction!

Superb ride in a sport piece of luxury - 2004 Audi A4

This car turns on a dime however be careful... it only takes a few seconds to get to 60 mph and 90mph doesnt feel like 90. Wonderful ride, lush interior and piece of mind when driving with little ones. You know that you are safe when driving with Audi.
