Model Overview:

The Audi A4 holds the distinction of having single-handedly revived the Audi brand. Launched in the mid-'90s, the compact A4 quickly became a favorite among luxury car buyers thanks to its beautifully finished cabin, sharp handling and available Quattro all-wheel drive. Although the A4 has offered these core characteristics from day one, it has become increasingly polished and high-tech with each successive generation. No matter which year you're looking at, the A4 promises both engaging performance and suave style inside and out.

The sedan body style has been a constant for the Audi A4, but depending on the vintage, you may also find wagon and convertible variants. Turbocharged four-cylinder power is typically found under the hood, yielding both reasonably spirited acceleration and satisfactory fuel economy. In road tests, we've consistently praised the A4's refined character, with more recent plaudits going to its spacious backseat, which has adequate room for full-size adults.

I think the car will be fun to drive but since I had an accident on day 2 of ownership, I dont know yet. It will soon be three months and the availability of spare parts is keeping me from enjoying the car. Unfortunately, Audi spare parts are either unavailable or marked improperly when orderd. My repair shop classifies Audi as the worst in terms of difficulty in getting the right parts in a timely manner. Audi may be a world class car but they apparently have a third world supply chain!

I just purchased a 2002 A4 3.0 cvt, sports, premium, preffered, bose, xenon. I have to say that it is what bmw 330is should aspire to be. The handling on this car is superb ,the interiors are exuberant and the accelaration... well, simply exhilerating. I waited a year to get this car, , and finally after I made my decision, I still had to wait to get the color and options I wanted, but let me tell you my friends it was worth every effort and time and money I spent.... this is my dream car!

I bought this car three weeks ago. Its everything I expected: Refined design, subtle but present performance, and excellent handling. Only a week ago, a duck and her ducklings suddently apperared out of nowhere as I was doing 50 mph. I slammed on the brakes and found out what a well-designed, great braking saystem does for you. If I would have done the same on my previous Jeep I would have been all over the road. This baby slowed down fastly but very steady and on a straight line. Perfect.

Ive had this car for over 3 years now. Had to get the windshield replaced in the first week: it had a defect that made everything look "wobbly." The fuel pump gave out at 1.5 years/30K miles, stranding me at 5 am (very frustrating!). I have since witnessed about 4 other identical models stranded in parking lots or on the freeway. Since the fuel pump, the car has not given me any problems, aside from strange electrical issues such as the mirrors rotating out of memorized position.

There are few thing that could be done to improve this vehicle. It is eight grand cheaper than an equivialant BMW. Both the A4 3.0 quattro and BMW 330xi are great cars, but the eight grand is more enjoyable in my pocket than the dealers. Service is first-rate.

Had to bring it back to the dealer many times... Sunroof motor, A/C relay, Master cylinder, power window motor, valve tap at start up...

  • The True Review - 2004 Audi A4

The cars 1.8liter and 4 cylinder engine with a 170HP sound worse than the actual performance that comes out. I previously owned a Nissan Maxima 6 cylinder and the audi from 0 to 60 leaves the maxima in the dust. However, the car reaches higher rpms much faster and begs the driver for quick shifting. The handling is excellent, however after 6 months with the car, the front struts and axls are creeky. In addition, the car has begun to make louder idle noises. The maxima is as quiet as a pussycat. Overall, it is difficult to compare the two being in different categories and the sacrifices that I made switching to a smaller car (interior is small).

One of the most beautiful cars around. The interior is first class. The Special edition adds more fun to the driving experience, though a little stiff on bumpy roads. The only con is performance. The engine could use a little more power. Overall, a car that turns heads and gets lots of ohhh!! inside and out but dont challenge other cars for a quick race... youll be left eating dust.

First, the gearbox in this car is amazing... flawless shifting! This car is all about the driver, giving an excellent drive that is fun, fast and smooth. The quattro allows for quick, stable handling, especially at high speeds, that is superior to anything else I have owned.

Just got the car last month. Awesome!! Had some aftermarket performance enhancement done by Joe Hoppen in Sarasota...now the 1.8T delivers 220hp and 230lb-ft torque. The CVT is awesome-so smooth, although I also have driven the stick (wonderful as well). Premium sound system phenomenal. When I drive normally, I average over 30mpg.
