Unreliable Disaster - 2001 Audi A4
By jscala - December 17 - 2:35 pmRead the reliability reports. Everything in there and more has gone wrong with my Audi. The sludge problems w/ the 1.8T, in my opinion, are the engineering equivalent of a surgeon leaving a scalpel inside you.

A rebadged VW w/ nothing to offer - 2001 Audi A4
By Roger - July 5 - 5:19 pmI purchased this car a few months ago due to my new job where I needed to drive daily, since prior to this Ive had 2 sports cars (350z, mr2 turbo). I needed something comfortable with that didnt look old and was cheap. Ive always love the red color scheme of Audi interiors so I picked up this car. To be honest if youre looking to buy an A4, save yourself the money and go buy a VW jetta/passat. Aside from the quattro there really isnt much of a difference between them, the cars options are all kind of crappy, and this car is not as luxurious as my old Lexus ES, and definitely wasnt as fun as my 350z, plus its horribly unreliable, and the little problems that come up tear away at you.

Dont waste your money - 2001 Audi A4
By Scott - April 3 - 4:29 amI leased my 2001 Audi A4 1.8T quattro Sedan new. It was great for the first year. Since then it has been in the shop with multiple problems at least every other month. Ive been to four Audi service centers and each one does a worse job than the other. Audi customer service didnt seem to care either. Im finally fed up with the car and contacted Audi of North America for details on turning it in early...they finally want to talk, but its too late. We also have had two Volkswagen Jettas with similar problems. I wouldnt recommend an VW/Audi product.

Buy an Acura instead - 2001 Audi A4
By Namiko - March 9 - 2:00 amDo yourself a favor and buy an Acura or a Lexus instead. This isnt a truly awful car. My Ford Contour was a truly awful car. But this isnt a good car. I have had annoying problems since I drove it off the lot. Everything from the vanity light going out to the wiper blades hopping to the car not starting! The brake squeal is insufferable and is part of the design of the Audi brakes and they wont do anything about it. These problems are not acceptable and downright embarrassing from a $30k car.
