Great value but not perfect - 2005 Acura TL
By VeniceNate - December 10 - 6:16 pmIts been 6 months and Im still happy with the purchase. The car is beautiful inside and out and full of useful gadgets. Performace is strong and I havent had any mechanical problems with the car. I do have a few complaints. The turning radius is terrible, Im afraid to do U-turns now for fear that Ill have to do a three pointer. There are too many small rattles for a car in this segment. Then again, Id rather have rattles than mechanical failure like recent Germans. Desperately needs an MP3 jack and an 8-way passenger seat. The Navi disclaimer needs a permanent bypass, Im sick of pressing OK everytime. Overall, a good car whose value makes it great.

Traded 2005 TL in on a 2005 G35 - 2005 Acura TL
By El Zaphod - September 6 - 9:06 pmThree weeks ago I bought a new 2005 Acura TL. It was beautiful inside and out but it drove badly. Torque steer, Brakes pulled, vibration in pedal and steering wheel at speed. I just traded it in on a 2005 G35. I love the G35. It drives properly. (keep in mind I have been driving a Mecedes E Class for the last ten years so my idea of properly is RWD) I find that the G35 drives a lot like my My Mercedes but it has a lot more power and is more noisy. anyway, I love the G35 so far.

Hond has lost its way - 2005 Acura TL
By Very Unhappy - June 26 - 12:03 pmThe exterior paint job on this car is HORRIBLE. You will have to repair paint chips as soon as you exit the dealer. For 30k + you have got to be kidding me. I really LOVE most eberything else My biggest gripe at this point is the poor paint job that results in scratches from the simple everyday driving, but then I only have 4000 miles on it. So I guess it will get worse with the noises and stuff, like everyone else. I will trade this in for a nissan as soon as I pay off the note. What is the most imortant aspect of a vehicle (how it LOOKS) thats one of the biggest reasons we choose the car we choose.

Better than... - 2005 Acura TL
By RKent - April 3 - 10:43 pmWe bought the TL as a family car, but it generally logs only 5miles/day. Currently at 2400 miles after 4 months. Recently took it to New England (from NJ) and loved it. FWD, yes, but unless you make sharp, accelerating turns youre OK. Plenty of rear leg room for teens and normal adults, and firm, comfortable seats made the 235 trip easy for everyone. 80mph is a quiet and safe as 60, and while you could feel the bumps of the Cross Bronx Expy, the car steered straight and there were no surprizes.

Lot of car for the money - 2005 Acura TL
By Nick Clifford - January 3 - 6:50 amWith 195,000 on my 95 Accord it was time for a new car; my first thoughts were to buy a used 5 series but after extensive research found out BMWs cost a fortune to maintain. Ive been spoiled by Honda. Prior to my Accord I owned an 85 Prelude with 220,000 + miles .. original gear box and engine. Buying a TL is easy really, there is nothing that comes close to value for money. If these cars are as reliable as previous models long term ownership should be a dream too. No tune up until 105,000 !! Compare that with BMWs ... only problem so far is rattle from passenger window which surprised me ...wasnt expecting this from Honda. Ride is firm which I like but others used to Lexus may not ..?

Horrible Paint Quailty - 2005 Acura TL
By Unhappy - December 25 - 6:33 amI drove a Blk 93 5spd Vigor GS 4 8 yrs 225k mls, That car was an absolute DREAM. I then got a Blk 97 TL 2.5 auto (was OK, but no Vigor),I was extremely board with the Auto, so I test drove the 05 TL 5speed n fell in love (So expensive though)But I got it anyway. I have 3700 miles on the 05 TL, the majority are highway. I have no rattle trouble or any other issues 2 complain about OTHER than the paint job. I have so many chips on the front of the car for such a short period of time (Hood and Bumper)already Its disgusting. Im lost at this point and I think Im going 2 bite the bullet and take loss(4 to 5k)on the vehicle before it gets any worse for me. THE paint JOB is simply horrible.

Best Car I have Owned - 2005 Acura TL
By TampaMike - June 23 - 3:10 pmI waited over a year to buy the TL as I avoid 1st year redesigns. No car is perfect, but the TL is the best car I have ever owned. I have always bought fully optioned cars, but the TLs extensive features overwhelmed me. I still do not make use of all of the features. Admittedly, I have spent hours in the garage learning my TL, as well as admiring the wonderful stereo. By the critics, this is not the best handling in its class (being FWD), but the TL far exceeds my driving characteristics. Acura has done an amazing job of balance here with performance, features, power, relative efficiency and Ultra Low Emmision Vehicle (ULEV) and all for an unmatchable price.

Fun and Flaws - 2005 Acura TL
By Jeffish - May 27 - 12:20 pmI have owned the car for 7 months. It offers a poweful driving feel, easy to maneuver in small and tight traffic situations and is quite stylish on the outside and the inside. Seats are comfortable and the heated seat feature for the 2005 model is nice on cold winter mornings and nights. Great acceleration and brakes provide security.
