Having owned an ES300 Lexus, I wanted to stay in that price range. The Acura was very competitive but with more power, edgy looks, electronic features and much better road handling. Its stability on curves was superior to the Lexus with a cleaner more luxurious interior. I cant wait to get in it every morning!

This is a truly awe-inspiring vehicle. It is a mobile testimony to the ability of mankind to refine the daily commute to a work of artestry. Prior to our purchase of the TL, we gave consideration to the G35, BMW 3-Series, and Lexus ES 330. The TLs larger size, long list of standard features, and reliability factor won out.

I looked at all the other cars- Audi A4, BMW330, G35, Volvo S60. I bought the dealer option, so it has everything. The navigation is very user friendly. For the money, this is the best car out there.

Nothing bad to say really about this vehicle. I have several kinds of cars/trucks and this one is definitely up there for its price, look, relability, etc. It handles awesome, accessible features are at your finger tips. All the way around.... It is a well made car. PLUS it has great longevity and Great resale!

  • Great Car! - 2005 Acura TL

I used to own a 99 TL and it was a good car. Decent performance, lots of amenities, excellent navi. Interior quality was sub-par, styling was bland. I then moved to a 00 328i. Great performance, good looks, almost no amenities, tiny cabin. This new TL combines the best qualities of both cars and adds a panache all its own. Great performance, gorgeous to look at, both inside & out. Interior quality is excellent. The voice control has been integrated extermely well with the navi (you can say find nearest ATM, and the car takes you there). The only problem is lack of torque at low speed.

  • Excellent Idea, Horrible Execution - 2005 Acura TL

Fell in love with this car when I bought it now I CANNOT STAND IT, all within less than 6 months! Why? Rattles, Rattles, and more Rattles Mislaligned body parts, especially trunk that rubs and has paint chipped off and rust on it! Very poor water based paint used. Chips started on drive home from dealer and havent stopped. Paint mottling (swirling on doors) uneven paint application at factory! Looks like an army camouflage vehicle under certain lights! Cheap leather on seats that has more wrinkles than a 120 year old ladys face. Wrinkle in seat within first 500 miles and it only gets worse. If you get black its gets even better! DASHBOARD FADES TO A MILKY WHITE COLOR! ALL TLs DO IT!

  • Awesome car - 2005 Acura TL

This is actually my fourth Acura, and I will never buy another brand of car. As soon as I got a look at the new 2005 style, I was at the dealership. I wanted the navigation system and my husband wanted the Brembo brakes, so we purchased the 6 speed transmission and boy does it got pep!!! I have so much fun flying around town. The manual drive was very touchy at first but now it is just plain fun!

  • After one month of ownership - 2005 Acura TL

So far Im getting 22 mpg around town and 30 mpg on the freeway, driving normal. Its an exceptional quiet and comfortable car. I dont like the way the interior front doors are configured. After opening the door youre compelled to use the padded arm rest to swing open the door because the larger open padded handle it too far forward. It works fine to close the door once your inside but unatural to use that padded arm rest to open the door. In fact I didnt notice it until I got home (after purchase) but it had grease marks all over it. Apparently the mechanics/detailers also have the same problem.

  • Excellent Value and Technology - 2005 Acura TL

Recently purchased a 2005 TL w/ Navigation 9/05. Have 600 miles so may be early for complete analysis but we love the car. Great fuel economy. (22 city, 27 mixed, 32 hwy). Roomy interior with unbelievable technology. Considered competitors. In the end the value of the car made it the one. May not have the cutting edge drive per se of a RWD car but Im not a race driver so I really could not care less. More important to me at least were the comfortable interior (more room than 3 series and IS250/350), cutting edge technology, reliability and of course value.
