I do enjoy my TL. The six speed manual trans is great, however when the temperature is below 60 degrees the shifting is tight until the car gets hot. The sound system and navigation are great features. Overall a real head turner.

Car has been great! Truly a fabulous value. No problems to date, no rattles. First time back to the dealer was for first service, car arrived with NOTHING wrong!

To really appreciate the TL you have to first drive a C class, BMW 3 or 5 series and a G35. The acceleration exceeds the performance of both BMW and C class between 30 and 60 mph (freeway entry and passing ability). Although the G35 may be slightly quicker, the TL feels richer, has a better interior and much better curb appeal.

The TL is a great looking car and it delivers on promises. Two days after purchase I was on a 2200 mile car. Everytime I opened the drivers door it was a pleasure to get back in. I also enjoyed the compliments of strangers on my great-looking car. The car feels solid and well-built and hugs the road nicely.

Although this car isnt as beautiful as the Lexus GS I chose it over, it is very impressive. Theres lots more room than the exterior suggests. The controls are clear and convenient. The power reserve, for a slow commuter, is terrific, and I long to wind it out. I miss two things from my previous Lexus: the automatic tilt-away steering wheel, for easy in and out, and the full leather seats. While these seats look fantastic, they appear to be leather only in the perforated, middle areas. Still, I expect a long, solid life from this car.

You have to spend 10 Gs more to get materially more car. The front has an appealing sneer with some attitude, theres enough interior bling and tech but not to excess, really planted handling, plenty of rev-happy power. Its a fine, quiet highway cruiser too. Average adults have decent rear legroom but if you travel with 4 aboard pack lightly--smallish trunk. I expect great reliability and resale. My previous was an 02 TL Type-S. It was so good for both that this is the first time Ive ever bought the same car twice. However the 05 shares only the terrific powertrain and TL name with the 02. Otherwise its so different that to all intents its a wholly different car.

Weve only had the vehicle about 6 mos. now and we could not be happier, unless, of course the driving mileage was better. The car is a great driving machine, especially with the 6spd transmission. It is, without a question, the best car Ive owned, and Ive had a bunch!!!!

My wife bought this car 6 weeks ago. We have been driving Acuras for 13 years. I currently own a 03 TL-S. We took the 05 on the road and wow! what a difference from my 03 Type-S. Tight gears, smooth clutch, and throaty exhaust. Torque steer is noticeable with the front drive however cornering is superb with the Limited Slip Differential.

  • Excellent Buy! - 2005 Acura TL

Fell in love with the style and was sold on performance and fantastic options that came standard. Between the Bluetooth, the DVD Audio sound system and the XM satellite radio I was in technology heaven. As a sales rep, the comfort, layout, driving enjoyment and trunk space have NOT been a disappointment. WELL worth the price and boy, does the car get looks! 8 months into ownership and 12,000 miles on it, I have zero complaints and would only caution that the MPG is slightly lower than on the sticker. Tire wear has been brought to my attention by other owners, but no official concern from me yet. I would recommend this vehicle for those who appreciate performance, speed, reliability and sound

  • Overall A good Vehicle - 2005 Acura TL

I love the Navi system and the gas mileage is better than my previous vehicle. My previous car was an Audi S4 and these are two totally different vehicles. The Acura has much better electronics and more interior room plus better gas mileage. The Audi drove better and was faster. I miss Quattro.
