This Year's Model Updates:

A number of interior, exterior and mechanical updates were made for 2004. The V6 engine added slightly more power and is now rated at 265 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. Outside, you'll find a restyled front fascia, new chrome trim, dual exhaust tips, a new wheel design for Touring models, updated headlights and taillights and a rear wing spoiler. The interior now features trendy brushed metal-look trim for the center stack, leather armrests, auto-on/off headlights, new ambient foot lighting and enhanced functionality of the second-row seat for third-row access. Touring models get a new version of the Bose premium audio system and power lumbar support for the driver seat. Finally, safety has been improved on all MDXs with the addition of side curtain airbags and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

Pros:
  • Room for seven passengers or serious amounts of cargo, gutsy V6 engine, well-balanced suspension, top-rated crash test scores, low price.
Cons:
  • Limited off-road capability, below-average tow rating, ho-hum interior design and materials.

Great new truck but fuel economy is averaging only 13.7 mpg other than that this suv is a dream to drive I had the sony dvd installed in it and it to me beats the pants off the Lexus suvs thay nose dive around every corner I know because when I take my wifes lexus in for service I get one as a loner and have put it through the test and it fails compaired to the MDX

  • Probably best SUV for today - 2004 Acura MDX

Performance has been excellent except for gas milage. Extremely safe and fun to drive. Absolutely no manufacturing defects.

  • 3 Years Going Strong - 2004 Acura MDX

We have owned this MDX for three years and it is still a great car. Dealership took care of a couple of glitches without fanfare. Giving this one to one of our kids and just ordered a 2008 MDX w/tech package.

  • Lots to like; easy to be with. - 2004 Acura MDX

This is by far the most comfortable vehicle I have ever driven. Everything manages to be in the right place to find it and the little features of automation really work to make the driving pleasant. The heating system, while short of all the buttons, knobs and zones of some others, simply works. I (we) seldome change any setting, save the back seat control to allow passengers their say The second seats are the surprise.... they recline. Backing up with the camera is surprising. Try it in a pitch dark situation to really surprise yourself. And, six though it is, it goes! My advice .... drive this "bland" SUV a few miles before you buy anything else.

  • Love this Acura - 2004 Acura MDX

I LOVE this car or I mean SUV. It performs & drives like a car. So smooooooth. Great look!!! Navi is very nice to have but does need upgraded, missing a few older streets. Breaks click kind of loud when applied & the shocks thump alittle when taking off. Not big deals but for a $45000.00 vehicle it shouldnt be there. Leather could be a little softer.

  • Great Ride - 2004 Acura MDX

Ive had the vehicle for about 3 weeks now. Love the ride. It just feels like your driving a nice vehicle when driving. All my family and friends love it. I did research for about 3 months. Test drove alot of different SUVs. The decision came down to either the MDX or Volkswagen Toureg. For the money, I thought the MDX beat it out. The history of reliability and resale is pretty good compared to some of the other competitors. Im averaging about 18 to 19 miles on the average. Definitely, get the side steps and luggage rack on the vehicle. That finishes off the look of the vehicle. It kind of looks naked without it.

This SUV handles very well; steers very responsibly. I mightve enjoyed a bucket seat like the Acura TL, but altogether, the MDX indeed is a luxurious SUV.

I purchased this vehicle new just over a year ago. It is simply the best SUV I have ever driven. I would not hesitate to recommend its purchase to a friend or family member. My one and only criticism is:fake(plastic)wood.

  • Love my MDX - 2004 Acura MDX

I had the Honda Pilot (which is a great SUV)but I wanted the extras. The MDX has it all. I am extremely pleased that I decided to get the MDX. Best ride Ive ever had. :o)
