Overview & Reviews
A number of interior, exterior and mechanical updates were made for 2004. The V6 engine added slightly more power and is now rated at 265 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. Outside, you'll find a restyled front fascia, new chrome trim, dual exhaust tips, a new wheel design for Touring models, updated headlights and taillights and a rear wing spoiler. The interior now features trendy brushed metal-look trim for the center stack, leather armrests, auto-on/off headlights, new ambient foot lighting and enhanced functionality of the second-row seat for third-row access. Touring models get a new version of the Bose premium audio system and power lumbar support for the driver seat. Finally, safety has been improved on all MDXs with the addition of side curtain airbags and a tire-pressure monitoring system.
- Room for seven passengers or serious amounts of cargo, gutsy V6 engine, well-balanced suspension, top-rated crash test scores, low price.
- Limited off-road capability, below-average tow rating, ho-hum interior design and materials.

look out for the brakes - 2004 Acura MDX
By nema - September 11 - 2:00 amThe brakes in this car have been a constant problem, thay all make grinding noise after a rain they build up rust if the car is not used in 12 hours (they say this is normal)I have a friend in PA with the same car and the same problem. Brakes have been worked on 3 times, after 2 years the car shows its age in other areas as well. This is my 2nd Acura and will be the last.

beautiful car - 2004 Acura MDX
By planet plumbing - September 3 - 2:00 ambeautiful car, but thought it would be better on gas mileage, sticker stated 17/ 23 and that is not the case it is more like 14.7/18. also the car is very sleak on the outside but would be better with some door gaurds so when others hit your door you dont end up with a very expensive dent. also navi gets stuck sometimes and you have to restart the car to even use the ac properly. and window locks are dumb because you cant let the passenger control the window without enableling your kids to do so to.

Good family vehicle - 2004 Acura MDX
By JSR - August 3 - 2:00 amOverall, we have had a positive experience with the vehicle. My daughter really enjoys the entertainment system and the third seat. However, one of the front headlights lost its seal, and we expected better initial quality.

Solid Car - 2004 Acura MDX
By djreid2 - July 30 - 2:00 amThis is a great car that will last for a lifetime. It is cheaper than the lexus and roomier. The acceleration is very good for a SUV. The only downfalls are gas mileage and no in dash cd changer. The lexus had more options, but the Acura has more value

So far, so excellent - 2004 Acura MDX
By phenry - July 14 - 2:00 amNot gone too far yet, but so far everything I could hope for. Drives like a Acura sports sedan and almost as good as my quatro Audi. A dream on the highway, especially if you are used to driving an old fashion SUV. Nav system very intuitive and impressively accurate.

Fix those brakes! - 2004 Acura MDX
By Bill San Diego - July 9 - 2:00 amWe love this car! Great flexibilty with the seats in the back and we dont have to worry about fitting into parking spaces like Yukon owners. Great engine and the sound system is great! The only complaint is the damn clicking in the brakes..what is the deal with that?!?! We didnt want to pay what U.S. dealers were charging so we bought it for less including shipping to our house in San Diego by buying it from a Canadian dealership. NO PROBLEMS and we get the daytime running lights.

satisfied - 2004 Acura MDX
By MDX Challenge - December 1 - 2:00 amTest drove a good number of SUVs. This Acura SUV got my attention because of all its safety features, good looking body style, very good gas mileage, good Bose audio sound, and nicely powered 265 HP engine which makes it fun to drive with some pep. Interior audio controls as well as somewhat complicated NAV system the only knock

04baseMDX-SO HAPPY I OWN ONE - 2004 Acura MDX
By annalisa - March 19 - 2:00 amIve been eyeing this vehicle for several months and did a lot of research. dealerships were competitive but got the best deal at 35,300 with side steps!-excl.tax and license. love the vehicle and look forward to driving it all the time. i just wish gas consumption was a lot better even though thats a given with an suv.
