Overview & Reviews
A number of interior, exterior and mechanical updates were made for 2004. The V6 engine added slightly more power and is now rated at 265 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. Outside, you'll find a restyled front fascia, new chrome trim, dual exhaust tips, a new wheel design for Touring models, updated headlights and taillights and a rear wing spoiler. The interior now features trendy brushed metal-look trim for the center stack, leather armrests, auto-on/off headlights, new ambient foot lighting and enhanced functionality of the second-row seat for third-row access. Touring models get a new version of the Bose premium audio system and power lumbar support for the driver seat. Finally, safety has been improved on all MDXs with the addition of side curtain airbags and a tire-pressure monitoring system.
- Room for seven passengers or serious amounts of cargo, gutsy V6 engine, well-balanced suspension, top-rated crash test scores, low price.
- Limited off-road capability, below-average tow rating, ho-hum interior design and materials.

FINALLY, The Near Perfect SUV - 2004 Acura MDX
By Mother of Kam & Aly - October 8 - 2:00 amWith a 16 year old high school football player and a carpool of 13 year old girl soccer players, this vehicle is perfect for me! With seating for 7 (including the driver), I always have room for "one more." I traded in my Mercedes SUV for an SUV that drives like a car, is reliable mechanically, is confortable, useful and looks great!

Great so far - 2004 Acura MDX
By BAV - October 7 - 2:00 amPurchased Sage Brush Pearl w/ touring package 11/03, only 500+ miles so far. Ride and handling are great. Also test drove Murano and it was more fun/sporty but felt MDX was more solid, much nicer interior, and proven long-term reliability, and 2004 changes were right on (side curtain air bags, slight body modifications, interior display). Also thought about 4runner but preferred MDX compromise of eco- friendly V6, great cargo and seating space, luxury options, and safety.

Ownerscomments on 2004 MDX uality - 2004 Acura MDX
By M.D. Bloom - October 5 - 2:00 amI recently traded a 2003 Acura in for a 2004 Acura because I left a lease for a full purchase. Both of these vehicles are superb in handling and reliability. I traveled 17000 miles in the 2003 and never returned to the dealer except for routine maintenance. These cars surely represent Hondas reputation for quality.

By LV2LEND - October 5 - 2:00 amI love my MDX!! This is my 3rd Acura and I love everything about this car. before purchasing this model, my husband was pushing for the Lexus GX. This car has so many wonderful features, that the Lexus couldnt compete and the price was right!!

Gerry 1 - 2004 Acura MDX
By brnpoodle - October 2 - 2:00 amI drove the MDX to Loas Angeles a week after purchase. Mileage was 24 mpg, over rated amount. Performance was much better than my previous SUV. Actually recieved higher mileage than any tank in prior SUV and longer range than prior vehicle.

Great Car and truck - 2004 Acura MDX
By reineerbrad - October 1 - 2:00 amVery car-like ride. This SUV is a fun to drive alternative for us fathers that need to drive a mini-van but dont want to be seen in one then you have AWD to boot! Once inside you forget you are driving a large vehicle and you feel like you can disolve the road ahead with its handling and comfort. Great curves, handling, room, with a shape to match. Even has pleanty of room for our large dog.

Acura MDX Rules the Road - 2004 Acura MDX
By simsix - September 25 - 2:00 amAn absolute gem! A pleasure in every sense of the word. Dependable, very comfortable, fantastic in every way. We had a 32 inch blizzard..... it performed flawlessly. Never got stuck and I was out for hours just playing in the drifts and unplowed parking lots and roads. I have owned 3 full size American 4 wheel drives (Dodge Ramchargers, just like Chevy Blazer or Ford Bronco). This performed just about as well.

Stable, reliable, multi-functional - 2004 Acura MDX
By twriter - September 25 - 2:00 amTest drove other SUVs and understood why so many tip over. Probably because its on the Honda Odessy frame (lower, wider track), The MDX feels solid and corners without the sense that you are going to tip over. Excellent 0-60 acceleration - but you will stop showing off when you have to put gas in it. So-so mileage around town - excellent highway mileage. Very good visibility. Good multi-function usability - whether going to the theater, taking the dogs to the vet, or loading up at Home Depot - it is flexible. I was worried because I was going up from an Integra - with lots of handling and performance - but I have not been disappointed.
