  • Best car Ive ever driven in the first week - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

Ive only had my new 2012 Camry Hybrid for a week, but so far I have nothing to complain about. Drives perfect, great mileage, at or better than what Toyota claims, and the car rides beautifully, quiet, comfortable, seems well-built and the interior feels very plush and upscale. Ive never owned a new sedan before that has absolutely no annoying issues (that usually show up within the first week. SO glad I passed on the Sonata Hybrid and waited for the Camry.

  • HYBRID ALL THE WAY! - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

First time hybrid buyer, just got 2012 camry hybrid xle w/ full option minus blind spot monitor & hdd navi. This car demonstrates toyota is the undisputed king of Hybrid. Zippiest hybrid ever & youll never be dissapointed for lacking in power. Cruising 50-60 & need to take over a car... it will respond like it has a rocket booster, youll literally feel the boost & its a blast. It has a exceptionally refined exterior and interior however the seat are super firm esp. with leather so your butt may feel bit soar after a long ride but because the cabin is so comfortable otherwise minor discomfor w/ soar bum is easily forgotten. All important real world Mpg is 37 city 42 hwy so far...

An odd turn of events found me picking up my sons new TCH and delivering it to him in Miami Fl. I left OKC and drove out of Oklahom across Arkansas Clipped the corner of Tennessee and drove the whole North side of Mississippi. Finally after 651.2 miles I stopped in Alabama and filled up. It took 16.005 gallons which yielded a MPG of 40.6+ MPG. aT 1053 MILES i filled it again and still had 40.6+ mpg for the trip. All of this was at approx 72MPH. Once I entered Florida the traffic dictated that I should drive 75 or 75+ so I did. That run got 37.5 or so. Yes we did get 55 and 57 on a couple of controlled runs at low speed but as far as the real world of interstate driving is concerned 40 is OK.

  • Your mileage may vary - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

We paid the premium for the hybrid because we keep our cars a long time and if we were going to get mileage close to the EPA estimate we would make up the difference in about 5 years. Now that we have driven it about a year we are getting on average 34 MPG Nowhere near where we expected. Our diving has mostly been city driving and when we do get it on the highway we get above 40 MPG. We took it back a couple of times to the dealer, they said there is noting wrong and when I called Toyota they said that 34 MPG was within what we could expect and does not indicate a problem.

  • Gas mileage less than advertised mpg - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

I purchased a 2012 Toyota Hybrid Camry a few weeks ago and am disappointed with the gas mileage. I drive around town mostly, no fast starts, coast whenever possible - getting about 36 mpg on the last 2 fillups. I took it to the Toyota mechanic and couldnt find anything wrong. He said there is no break-in period needed to get the expected average 41 mpg. Frustrated owner! Ill be back to the Toyota dealer pounding the door very soon. Unsure of next steps if no resolution -

  • Incredible beautiful quality technical car - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

We have the 2012 Toyota Camry XLE with everything package. We also have the 2012 Lexus H200 with everything package. The Camry handles very well, and is so quiet running that we do not use the stereo above level 5. They carpeted the roof, walls, floor of the trunk, carpeted the wheel wells to reduce noise, recessed the wind shield to reduce air noise, and even with out the stereo on, it is a pure pleasure to drive. The Camry handles easily, parks very easily, turns very nicely. It feels SOLID when you drive it, ROOMY with large trunk, wide seats, and extended wheel base. We are up to 44 MPG now and still going up. The detail and workmanship make this car a MUST BUY if you are comparing.

  • Very impressed! - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

I’m going on 1000mi and so far fantastic car. First looked at the L4 but the hybrid got my attention. I was never too interested in hybrids, either too small or not enough mileage difference between the regular gas versions, but thats all changed on the Camry. It has great power and incredible gas mileage for a mid size sedan. Other than the spaceship sound (kind of cool) when you brake (regenerative power transfer) you can hardly tell it’s a hybrid. Wow! The looks have been sharpened and the interior is very comfortable for me. Traded my reliable 2005 Camry LE and am very pleased with the new Camry and first hybrid for me. Im getting low to mid 40mph consistently with about 80% rural highway and 20% 25-35mph rural roads near home and work.

  • 5,000 miles trip - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Took a trip from Omaha to New Brunswick and back. Best combination of mpg, power, & comfort. Between 70 & 75 mpg got better than 39 mpg, quick passing regardless of speed, effortless cruising whether going up mountains, or with four adults, and snappy pick-up whenever asked. Electric lumbar support proved invalueable for the longer trips. Several passengers appreciated the rear ventilation duct and the rear seat space and comfort. Style and color not trendy but with privacy glass, looks classy but still seems conservative. Steering is responsive and precise. The controls are easy to adjust to and reach. Overall the ride is quite solid and relatively smooth. So far, great reliability

  • Poor front bumper and light structure - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Poor front bumper and light structure. Just made scratch the garage door, the bumper and absorber falled down, both left and right lights have to be replaced.

  • Much More Than Expected - 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
    By -

The 2012 Camry Hybrid is outstanding. Comparing it (from many test drives) to the Fusion, Optima, and Sonata hybrids, overall it is the best in terms of quality, performance, comfort and on par with all in terms of fuel economy. The Camry Hybrid is quiet, solid, comfortable, and moves when you need it to. Total quality. After 2700 miles, a solid 38.3 mpg avg cty/hwy. Entune infotainment is great. I was originally set on an Optima. After seeing repeated negative owner comments for noise, seating, performance, maintenance I started looking elsewhere. Furthermore, complete piece of mind. No worries about salesperson & maintenance competence or manufacturer quality as with Kia and Hyundai.
