  • Fun first coupe owned - 2008 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

At first, I was attracted to the more powerful Civic Si, Scion tC, and the GTi from VW. The GTi and Si not being in my price range, I had to choose between the tC or Tiburon, which was very easy. The Tiburon GS is a great little coupe that looks a LOT better then most coupes in its price range. The Tiburon has a decent acceleration, and decent high-speed max. Handling is very good, and this car is also a good platform for the modding enthusiasts. The car is small, so its easy to maintain the exterior and interior.

  • Swimming with sharks - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

I compared this car to the Acura RSX, the Chevy Camaro, Toyota Solara, and Honda Accord Coupe. The shark has better handling than any of the above. Better 0-60, 20-60, and 0-40 times than all but the Camaro. The ride is rough, and the interior is a joke. The dash is obnoxious, and the stereo system is average. This car is the prettiest of the bunch, but looks arent everything. Its real hard to see out of the right side window when making turns. The mirror acts like a wall. The headlamps restrict night vision. Finally, it has NO crash test ratings. The NHSTA hasnt tested it. So technically, you could be purchasing a 20,000 coffin. Its a risk.

Test drove it. No, its not as great as the RSX, but for 18,000, its better priced than the celica, and the eclipse. Put some extra money for aftermarket goods, and you may have a better car than the RSX, celica, and eclipse... for cheaper! If they come out with a sick body kit, I just might trade cars.

  • Excitment on the Road - 2008 Hyundai Tiburon

This is a great looking car and for me a great time to buy. With Owner Loyalty and rebates this car is a great bargain. I purchased for a 17 year old driver but I find myself borrowing the car every chance I get.

  • love it - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I have mine for over 5 years and still love driving it. Im constantly getting compliments on it. The car is so much fun to drive. The interior is very well laid out and comfortable. The materials are good. Trunk/hatch is huge. No reliability issues even with it being supercharged for over 4 years. The service at Quality Hyundai is great. I had the clutch replaced and no problems since. A few other problems like the locks and window motor going that was fixed under warranty. I still enjoy it very much and would buy one again.

  • air bag trouble - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I owned a 2004 Tiburon and loved it. That was until I hit a deer head on and spun into a wall head on. Every air bag in the car went off except for the drivers side air bag. And I was the only one in the car!

  • Im Luvin it! - 2008 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

My 2208 Hyundai Tiburon GS is my first BRAND NEW car ever & was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Everything about this car is awesome...and you cant beat Hyundais warranty either. I was looking for a cute *sportsy* car that was good on gas AND insurance...this fit the bill. The 4 cyl. has more than enough power to get you moving when you want it! And it took me awhile to get used to all the head turning looks that this vehicle gets while youre driving.

  • After 10k miles--still a great car - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

After 10,000 miles in 8 months--I still really like this car. Its done California mountains, Arizona deserts, and lots of LA freeways. Really fun to drive. Gets attention and compliments like a car priced MUCH higher. Shiftronic auto was a good choice with 16" rims. 17" rims (with manual trans) make the ride too hard for me. Performance is very good and you always feel confident with whats under the hood. Milage is great on freeways--up to 27, but around town, only 17-18. Paint has a few dings already--a disappointment. Forget the back seat for adults, but you dont buy this car to haul people. Front seats are outstanding.

  • Looks cute, but its a special needs car - 2001 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

If I had eschewed the last three repairs (at least $6,000 ago), I could have afforded a more reliable used car by now.

  • Almost Happy - 2004 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

Car runs well except lifters are noisy on startup, good pick up good on turnes,Gas milage so so. Might as well throw out the back seats not of any use, But all in all a good car for the money.
