I was delighted to have purchased a new F150. Shortly after that things started to happen. The computer went, as did the gas consumption. The battery was replaced after a couple tows. side panels between the doors came unglued, handling was boaty. The A/C was unacceptable; wouldnt cool the cab on hot days. I was disappointed with the power when pulling a trailer with the trailer loaded. Overall I had the truck back to the dealership 9 times within 12 months, for some major complaints. The dealership was very responsive, but the problems were not theirs. I have been a 150 fan for many years, not any more.

If you can find one of these still left, its a great bargain!! No frills, but a comfortable and functional truck for work and play.

This F-150 has been a very solid vehicle for me. After the disaster that was my 1999 Olds Bravada the simplicity was a welcome change. Though I have only put about 10000 miles on it, I have not had even a minor mechanical glitch at this point. With current incentives, it cost less than my old SUV did USED. I think this will be a reliable truck for years to come. The Super Cab is not very roomy but can hold an average sized adult male on shorter trips (under a couple of hours). The back "doors" help with getting passengers into and out of the back. The ride is fairly smooth for a truck and it gets better milage than expected.

The interior of this vehicle is done nicely and all comforts are provided for, i.e. heated seats, moon roof, cd, etc. One design flaw I do not like is having to turn OFF the overdrive instead of turning it ON. By this method, you drive a lot for awhile around town before you remember you should have turned it off. Also, the gauges on the dash are somewhat hard to view while driving, especially the dark panel during the day - doesnt show up but most new cars are like this. Other than those, Im am very happy.

  • 3rd F-150 - 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage

I have owned 3 Ford F-150s and I have loved every one of them. I down-graded this time to a standard truck. First gear is lousy but 2nd will talk me to 57mph before I shift into 3rd. Of course I want the governor off this one also. It kicks in before I can shift out of 3rd. I doubt the top end will be off that much from my last truck, the Nascar version F-150. 175mph, now, 150mph?? I beat every vehicle I have ever owned, the F-150 hold up to me.

Replaced 1995 Dodge Ram 4X4 with this truck. I have to admit that I wish I would have paid a little more attention to the competition (especially Toyota and Dodge). However, this truck was priced so much better than the competition, so it was a no-brainer. For what is expected, the truck performs fine. The interior panels are starting to rattle at 18,000 miles. This is aggravating since I have never taken the truck off-road! I have to say that the ride is exceptional compared to my old Dodge. All in all, this is a good truck for moderate hauling, getting through snow, etc. Average truck - I got what I paid for.

  • Ford truck fan since 1979 - 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage

I have owned Ford trucks since 1979. The only problem I have ever had was when a large dealership was unwilling to do minor warranty work. I usually buy a truck new and drive it for years and sell or trade them at 200,000 miles. I just bought this Heritage after trading in a 89 F-250 with 230,000 miles on it. This Heritage is so much better than that F250 even when it was new and dont get me wrong I loved my F 250. It is SO comfortable yet it still feels like a sturdy truck. Getting things in and out of the back is SO much easier. My only issue with this one is that I will not be able to do some of my own maintenance on it but that is OK. I am disabled and have to quit working on them.

  • One of the Best! - 2004 Ford F-150 Heritage

I have owned this truck a little while now and it has been nothing but a blessing! The overall quality vs. the money paid in incomparable. Out does Chevy and Dodge on base model pickups. Highly recommend.
