This Year's Model Updates:

A new high-performance model, the S60 R, will become available later in the year. Otherwise, minor changes are in store for Volvo's sport sedan for 2003. A leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with a stereo with a CD and a cassette deck, now grace the interior of the 2.4 and the 2.4T. The latter also gets foglights and wood dash trim in its standard equipment list. For the all-wheel-drive version, the 2.4 turbocharged engine receives a small bump in displacement and horsepower. Rain-sensing wipers and OnCall Plus (the telematics system) are available, and two new colors, Titanium Grey and Ruby Red, brighten the exterior.

Pros:
  • Long list of standard safety features, luxurious interior, powerful turbocharged engine in top-line T5 model, deceptively quick 2.4T power plant, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • Handling lacks true sport-sedan precision, expensive optional equipment, torque steer in the T5 model.

Bought mine used. Put 60k on it in not quite 4 years. Nothing major has ever gone wrong with this car. I love the car. The interior is downright swank. Heated seats are the bomb, Acceleration is surprisingly powerful, mileage is average or a hair less than I would have expected (26 mpg). Yes, its noisy. If that bugs you, itll be too much for you. If not, the car is awesome. And if you have kids, youll feel very responsible while still having a sporty, fun, and good looking car.

I purchased my 2003 S60 2.5T AWD December 2002. The winter of 2002/03 was the worst in decades. Snow. First time user of an AWD. The only cars on the road were snow plows, suvs, cars that people couldnt care less if they got into a wreck and my volvo. In wet or dry weather it is fun to drive. I like the body style, interior is nicely designed, dashboard and countor of the front panel gauges are attractive, geartronic is a must, good power and excelleration, ride is a little hard, the drivers seat is down to a science and it does not look like other cars on the road. Hey, if I win the lotto Ill get a Mercedes SL500, for now Im happy with my Volvo.

A nice package, a four door luxury sedan with sporty look and feel. Beautiful interior as well as exterior. Chose bright color interior as it shows its true luxury and comfort. With 197 hp your are in control of road. It offers a quite ride and enjoyable driving experience

  • Unbelievably Priced for what you get. - 2003 Volvo S60

First let me say that if you buy an S60 definatly get the T5. The 17" Tethys wheels add so much to the cars styling. The T5s performance is also remarkable. The bottom line is that this car looks, feels, and performs like a car that should cost considerably more. I think this is one of the best values out there.

  • Great Car! - 2003 Volvo S60

Got the S60ASR six months and 10K miles ago. Loved everyminute of it. I do lots of highway driving for my job and its a pleasure to cruise in. Quiet cabin, great standard sound system, plenty of get-up-and-go power. Love the distinctive styling. Ive had a ton of compliments - "Thats a VOLVO??--COOL!"

I just got my S60 after driving an Audi A6 and there is no looking back. This car is beautiful, drives like a dream and has a very comfortable interior. Its a great choice.

  • Boxy but Good...Think again! - 2003 Volvo S60

Being a newcomer to Volvo, I was guilty of stereotyping the brand based on its prior conservative looks. Once inside the cabin, I was impressed with the build quality and comfort of the front seats. The interior layout is ergonomically friendly and the choice of materials and surfaces are attractive and sporty (the wood is a great touch!). All of that on top of eye-catching exterior styling and enough zip to surprise many BMW and Mercedes owners at stop lights.

  • Best Car I Ever Met - 2003 Volvo S60
    By -

I test drove every car in the near luxury segment and was amazed at how superior the S60 was. Nothing approaches the quality of the interior, the safety and it is deceptively fast. The only negative thing you might hear is someone complaining about rear leg room, but everyone knows rear seat passengers have no rights, so tell them to shut it.

  • Gorgeous Styling - 2003 Volvo S60

The Nautic Blue with 17" Tethys wheels is absolutely gorgeous! The styling is unique and does not look like the other European "jelly bean" sedans. It has an Italian design flair to it.
