2007 Tacoma Short Bed 4 Door 4wd - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By John M. - July 5 - 10:00 amI purchased a replacement for my 2001 Jeep Wrangler intending to do better than 12 mpg. The Toyota delivers about 18 mpg highway (thanks to the terrible new corn fuels that are terrible for the environment anyway) and 12 mpg city. After about 7 months of ownership, my check engine light came on. $6,500 worth of warranty work and 4 trips later, it is off. My dealer kindly loaned me a fully loaded Avalon to drive in the mean-time. I hate the plastic bed, but Im certain the decreased weight saves on gas mileage. The looks are ok, I prefer 4th generation Tacomas (2001-2004) over the 5th. Paint chips like crazy on my silver model. The painted plastic bumpers, etc are a bad idea.

Great Truck - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By trmckin - May 5 - 7:40 pmI purchased this vehicle for hauling mountain bikes, light yard work, camping and the occasional light towing job. Thus far, I have not been disappointed. Everything is well laid out and the storage is awesome. Plenty of power to enter Houston freeways with ease or tackle any jeep road. Purchase the sound shield and paint shield. Paint seems a little thin and scratches easily but hey, its a truck! Highly recommended. Serves my purposes and then some.

The best 4WD Truck I ever owned! - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By Captaincop - May 3 - 2:06 amI looked around a lot before I bought my Tacoma. I had Chevys and GMCs, too! I had three Dodges. This is the best overall truck I have ever owned. The pickup of the v6 is great. My fuel economy is getting better (18.5) as of 1,000 mile mark. The quality of the paint, interior, all around looks is overwhelming compared to some other car company models. This Tacoma is nice to drive and comfortable too! It just looks good. Indigo Ink Blue! 6 CDs in radio is great. The sound of the radio is real quality.

I want my 97 Taco back! - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By mph66 - April 28 - 3:54 pmI *hate* this truck. My 97 Taco got better mileage. I have an up/down hilly commute of 7 1/2 miles per day, each way. I hypermile by coasting down hills, and still, the best I can eke out is 24 mpg. They took the same spec. 4 cyl. engine from the 97 Taco and put it into the huge, bulky body of the 2007 access cab. This thing labors up the slightest of inclines. I dont need a "full size pickup" to compensate for something else. The smaller truck was fine for going to Home Depot or the transfer station. My manhood was not threatened, yet for some reason, it seems that Toyotas masculinity was somehow called into question. I want my old truck back!

Good Reliable Truck - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By bgr - April 20 - 12:33 amI bought this truck brand new over two years ago and I drive it for work every day. The Composite bed is a great feature as well as the power outlet in the bed. I didnt have a generator and it powered some basic items in my house for a couple days after a recent storm. The factory tires ride a little rough but have pretty good reliability. The stereo could be a little better. I love the design on the interior and exterior. Gas mileage is great. I usually average around 21-22 miles per gallon. Towing is ok but my 16 ski boat dogs it down a little. Unfortunately the bed dents easily like my last Tacoma. The front bumper should be chrome instead of plastic as well.

5 Year Tacoma Owner/READ ME! - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By 07tacomagirl - February 19 - 11:36 amWell, Purchased Feb. 5, 2007.....first of all I LOVE MY TRUCK!!! Sadly, it spends more time at the dealer than I have actually driven it. I have a file on it at least a solid inch thick. Things replaced so far: washer line..started shooting out of the side of my hood, 3 months in blower motor went out, 7,000 miles tire blew...literally came apart, 3 weeks later another tire blew, decided to replaced dunlops, engine rattle started, 14,000 miles brakes, calipers, rotors replaced they couldnt figure out why they wouldnt stop squeeling. 2 years in trans. hits when parked at a stop light. All before 36,000 mile and my list goes on but ran out of room. Im at 75,000 miles but at least its paid!

Love my Taco - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By CBI020 - January 11 - 2:00 amPurchased new in Jan 2007. Absolutely reliable - less than $700 maintenance in nearly four years, including $572 tire upgrade. (Free oil changes w/purchase.) Not so much as a rattle yet, after 45k miles. Under seat storage in rear is convenient, as are boxes in rear. Got mine with the bed extender; needed since standard bed is only 5 foot. Rides great, especially after upgrading from stock Dunlops to Yokohamas. Mileage slipped down to 20 after tire change, though. Plenty of power from V6 for day-to-day driving and hauling. Plan to keep this for many more years. My only regret is I purchased 2wd rather than 4wd, but traction is more than adequate 99.9% of the time

This is the truck I wanted! - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By drjohn - December 8 - 6:36 pmHaving spent over a decade in an S-10 Blazer, I was amazed at the quality of materials, quietness and smoothness of the Tacoma. My son-in-law has an 02 Tacoma that he loves. Driving my 07 is a pleasure. It has a great view of the road, ample power, a smooth-shifting manual 6 speed and ice-cold AC. The seats are comfortable and all of the controls within easy reach. I found the stereo to be more than adequate for my tastes, Im not an audio snob. The locking rear differential is a nice bonus. Im looking forward to many years of service from this truck!

Paint Chips Badly - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By iicei - November 4 - 4:10 amThere is a problem with Toyota paint on these pickups. The water based paint chips very easily. I thought I bought a good dependable truck only to find chipping paint after only 1000 miles of around town driving. I like the truck but the paint problem spoils it for me. Buyer beware.

Quality Truck - 2007 Toyota Tacoma
By GB - November 4 - 2:53 amI traded my defective Chevrolet Colorado in on a new Tacoma after GM wouldnt stand behind their product. I wish I would have looked at the Tacoma 2 years ago. The interior quality beats Chevy hands down, as does the ride and lack of road noise. There is also no comparison of the stereo system, Toyota beats Chevy without question. The mileage on the 2.7 4 cyl. 4X4 Tacoma has been fantastic. The mileage during the first 3000 miles has been 23 - 24 mpg with about 50% highway driving. I am very happy with my Tacoma.
