The 2003 Toyota Tacoma compact pickup is upgraded with standard antilock brakes on all models. Additionally, child restraint system lower anchors have been added to the front passenger seat on Regular and Xtracab models, and to the rear outboard seats on Double Cab models.
- Flexible and refined drivetrains, competent off-road, multiple body configurations.
- High price, most convenience features are optional, no third or fourth door on Xtracabs.

Good combination of features - 2003 Toyota Tacoma
By maxwellhammer - December 17 - 3:23 am2.4L automatic, extended cab 2WD SR5. So far, Im getting 25 mpg. The smallest engine available, but has perfectly adequate power. This is the first year for standard ABS, which was a hard to find option. I searched forever for these features in a used truck, really glad I found it. I hear the 05 and newer Tacomas dont have as good build quality, theyre larger and dont offer the 2.4L. If youre looking for great reliability and mileage, Id get an 03 or 04.

Another Toyota truck for me - 2003 Toyota Tacoma
By thrower - December 15 - 10:00 amI just sold a 1991 Toyota truck. I was the original owner. With 200,000 miles on it, it was still running great, but it didnt have enough cab room for me, my wife and our dog. So I got the Extended cab, SR5 stepside. The V6 is powerful and quiet. Steering is responsive and tight. The truck has the off-road suspension and it seems to help reduce speed bumps, etc. Toyota hasnt lost the touch. Its a great truck.

By Dollar - November 3 - 10:00 amIts hard for all of us to believe the price they get for Toyota Tacomas. While relaible ,they are some of the lowest quality interiors next to Kia,s. The small back window,cheap plastic bits and door panels a 5 year old could rip to shreds.Tiny,tinny,and dated comes to mind .I can,t wait till the New Titan by Nissan comes out so I can flog this truck to them .Toyota better update soon ,people are getting on to them .

What do I fix - 2003 Toyota Tacoma
By toyotajeff - October 25 - 2:00 amI purchased this truck when I was looking for a 4x4 and ended up being happy even though it is a 2wd. Other than general maintenance I have yet to repair anything ( in fact most mechanics Ive talked to have yet to make repairs on this model). I love my taco and I never had any problems with the interior but I think they had an access of clocks cause they used the same one in my 87 4runner.

By Shawn Gerrow - June 22 - 10:00 amThe more I drive it, the more I love it. It allows a man with a wife and kids to still own a serious truck and avoid the dreaded mini-van! The back seat is very comfortable with plenty of legroom, even for adults. It is comfortable on the highway and competent off-road. I am completely impressed with its off-road abilities, its height and locking rear differential have allowed me to go places my previous pickup could only dream of. To top it all off, it looks awesome too!
