This Year's Model Updates:

For 2011, the Toyota Sienna has been completely redesigned. Changes include a new entry-level four-cylinder version as well as a sport-tuned (yes, we're serious) SE trim level.

Pros:
  • Smooth and powerful V6, available all-wheel drive, seven- or eight-passenger seating.
Cons:
  • Some lower-grade plastics in cabin, expensive options packages.

  • 72,000kms in uncomfortable driver seat - 2011 Toyota Sienna

I have asked to replace seat with a better one but toyota didnt t have that option.I offered to buy the seat at my expense. Windshield is cheap .middle row is a bad design I am 6ft1" and have trouble lifting the seat out.then the rails are exposed .I would go back to north americian van for comfort. Tires are cheap . Van looks good performance is good . Cargo space and fuel economy are both good. Cabin filter ? Who needs that expense? Chevy bring back a 8 seater with your comfort.

  • Functional and fun! - 2011 Toyota Sienna

I have two kids and our Rav4 was just too cramped. Also needed to carry visitors/cargo and go on long road trips. Test drove 2010 Dodge Caravan and Odyssey. The Sienna had smoother shifting of the three and had the most power. Cabin noise was less than the Caravan and about the same as the Odyssey. The Caravan had the most interior function of the three. I went with with a 3 year lease and the Sienna was the best value for my needs. I think the LE is the sweet spot model for the Siennas; lots of features for $28k. The SE model drives slightly better but its a mini-van, if you want performance look elsewhere. If you want a people mover get this. +1000 miles 20 mpg avg.

  • Sienna 2011 has brake problems! - 2011 Toyota Sienna

I have been a loyal Toyota customer since Id first started driving. Therefore, I have bought many Toyota vehicles for personal use and work. Id just gotten a new Sienna. We have not driven more than 3000 miles before we realized that the car shakes while we went down the hill and try to apply the brake. I took it to the dealer and was told that the brake rotor has overheated because this car is heavier, and IT IS NOT A GUARANTEE ITEM. I was so disappointed because this is a brand new car, and I was told that there is nothing they could do because its Wear and Tear. Wear & Tear with 3000 miles? I understand if I had driven many miles and car had heavy loads, but not in this case.

  • Yup. Its a minivan - 2011 Toyota Sienna

Not really into minivans. We were looking at a Venza, but with 3 boys in hockey, we quickly decided we need the room. Plus the Sienna was about $2000 less than the Venza. Had it now for close to a month. Have had a problem with the stereo, and the transmission seems to hold gears a little long. The steering is also uninspiring. Im a little disappointed that there is no LED interior lighting and what is with the mast antenna? yea l stole that part from another review, but l feel the same way. After seeing what the 2011 Odyssey is going to look like, Im glad l bought this one

  • Like the 2011 Sienna - 2011 Toyota Sienna

Looked at several vehicles (CX9, Enclave, and Traverse) before buying Sienna because none of them offered the room I was looking for. Just drove the first 2500 miles around various places from Chicago to DC in the 2011 Sienna. Everyone in the family felt that the ride was very comfortable. I drove all the 2500 miles and the van handled like a car with no body roll even in the mountains of Virginia. We got 22.5 MPG on the freeway which less than advertised 24 but we hope it might improve. IPod connectivity is great and was able to control songs on the steering wheel. Love the cup holders and trunk space.

  • A Lot of Car. AWD Rides Hard. - 2011 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Purchased June, 2010--driven ~ 700 miles. Upsized from RAV4, which I loved but outgrew. The 2011 feels like this is A LOT of car to drive. We owned a "99 Sienna and its a completely different car -- much heavier. Not sure if due to AWD/run flats, but please test drive AWD/ compare to FWD + Odyssey. I am/was loyal Toyota customer, loved my 99 Sienna and wanted AWD--did not test drive AWD only FWD, and am now regretting. Not smart. Ride feels hard, bumpy, noisy -- especially over roads with bumps (many). Is this the AWD? All 2011? Not sure--and too late for me--but tune into this when you test drive. Also front VERY low to ground--be careful! Only getting 16 MPG city-if that-not good.

  • A Decent Minivan - 2011 Toyota Sienna

We have 3 kids (12, 10, 9) and turned in an Audi Q7 for the Sienna and the kids could not be happier. SUVs look cool but this car is designed to move people and cargo in comfort with space and amenities. The second row recliners are a treat and storage behind the 3rd row is great in comparison to any SUV beside a Suburban class vehicle. Thus far we are very happy with the minivan except for a few annoying features the XLE seems to be missing.

  • So far so good - 2011 Toyota Sienna

Really like the versatility of the Base Sienna. Removable seats and the folding 3-Row is a great feature. Runs great for a minivan. The 4 cyl engine (hard to get in the Los Angeles area) has enough pep to get us around town. Strangely, when I was looking into the jack compartment in the back of the van, it seems there was a big motor there which I think could only be for the sliding doors but this van does not have auto sliding doors. does this mean it can be upgraded?

  • More time in service dept than on road - 2011 Toyota Sienna

3rd row seat is defective and totally unsafe, power toyota in irvine has been terrible, we are stuck with a rental car for next few weeks. should have waited for the new odyssey!

  • Take it or Leave it. - 2011 Toyota Sienna

Have had the vehicle 5 weeks and logged almost 1,000 miles. Very quiet cabin and tons of get-up-and-go. Fuel economy so far is about 17 mpg, after about 95% in city driving. Seating flexibility is great in general. Hard plastics feel a little cheap (especially for $32,000) but overall fit-and-finish very good. Generally very pleased with our first-ever Toyota. A few surprising features missing or poorly executed however: A mast antenna? Really? Go with a roof- top shark fin, even base Hyundais have them. Turn signals should incorporate a "3-blink lane change" feature. 8-way power driver seat but no power for the front passenger? Move the headlight switch to the dash please & add auto on/off.
