Overview & Reviews
The Toyota Sienna receives more standard equipment for 2006. Most importantly, the formerly optional front side-impact airbags and three-row head-protecting side curtain airbags are standard on all Siennas this year. Other changes include new seat fabric for the CE and LE trims and Optitron gauges for LE, XLE and XLE Limited models. The XLE also has dual power front seats this year, and the XLE Limited gains driver-seat memory. There's also a new power-folding rear seat option on XLE Limited 2WD models. In addition, all Siennas receive a new grille, headlamps, foglamps and taillamp clusters. Finally, revised SAE testing procedures have dropped the van's stated horsepower rating from 230 to 215.
- Smooth ride, refined V6, packed with safety and convenience features, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, above-average fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
- A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

Never again! - 2006 Toyota Sienna
By cert963 - May 19 - 10:00 amA lot of repairs due to everyday use, parts and labor at dealer very expensive. Build with very cheap materials that break unusually fast dealer and Toyota will blame you for anything that you touched or used on the vehicle even the radio that you listen to is your fault. My first and believe me last Toyota to buy. Happy with my other Nissan and infinity trucks that I own for far more years of service and far less problems!

Toyota quality no more - 2006 Toyota Sienna
By Mark - May 19 - 10:00 amHaving owned several Toyota vehicles dating back to the 70s, I am truly disappointed in the recent quality of their vehicles. Brakes wear prematurely, CV joints are bad, and automatic sliding door went out. All before 50,000 miles. And of course, all of these repairs are very expensive. No more Toyotas in my future.

Not Toyota Quality - 2006 Toyota Sienna
By daddio1 - February 15 - 2:00 amBought the Sienna after my Caravan died 4 years ago. I hate to say that this Sienna has been worse maintenance- wise than my Caravan. Im on my third set of brakes, my power door locks have all been replaced and my A/C compressor went out twice. Every time I take it in to have the power door locks fixed they look get this look on their faces like its the first time theyve ever seen the problem although a friend of mine who works at a Toyota dealership told me its been a fleet wide problem for years to include the same 4 Lexus door locks Ive had replaced. Now my left CV joint is clanking. The staff at the dealership acts like they work at Rolls Royce or something. Frustrating.

Do not buy AWD. Run flat tire nightmare! - 2006 Toyota Sienna
By William - February 4 - 8:13 pmThe run flat tires on this vehicle wore out after 12,000 miles. Replacement tires were $300.00 each, which toyota did not have in stock. Forced to install regular tires. There is no spare tire for this vehicle and Toyota wants $700.00 to install a donut spare kit behind the third row seat, rendering it unfoldable.Toyota refuses to make good on this problem. The fwd has a spare tire mounted underneath. There is no room for it on the all wheel drive version.

2006 Sienna - 2006 Toyota Sienna
By David Skipworth - September 17 - 10:00 amVery unhappy with this vehicle. Have less than 70k on this car and already on 3rd set of tires. Rear door hold opens have failed and they cost nearly $300, and now the A/C compressor is out. New part is more than $1,000. Transmission has always shifted sluggish and the fuel tank is too small for the fuel economy of this vehicle. This car is a money pit. It just stays parked most of the time now. I hate it!

No big issues - but wont buy again - 2006 Toyota Sienna
By Boston Driver - September 27 - 12:36 amBought this car for my wife who swore she would never want a minivan. She likes the car, but Im not crazy about it. Mileage averages 19 .. i never expected 30, but 23-24 seemed reasonable. The engine seems underpowered or else the transmission is just plain shifting at the wrong times (i shouldnt have to floor it to maintain 70 mph on a minor incline). Otherwise just plain feels like Im driving a couch

Not expected Toyota quality - 2006 Toyota Sienna
By dragonsssix - May 23 - 9:27 amIts been close to 5 years (just hit 100K miles) and worked fine until now. Automatic sliding door is not working (wont close/open); I have to pull to make automatic door slides which is very inconvenient. I did not expect to have this kind of build quality from Toyota.
