  • Impressed but not Overwhelmed - 2004 Toyota Sequoia

After having the vehicle for almost a year I am impressed but not overwhelmed. It has a ton of space inside yet handles like a much smaller vehicle. The interior design is uninspired but practical. Lots of space to store things and tons of cupholders. Due to its size it is difficult to park in crowded lots or garages. It also only gets 15.7 miles to the gallon - not bad for a vehicle of this size but still expensive to operate. Also, for a vehicle in this price range there are several common amenities that Toyota doesnt even provide. Memory Seats? Not available. Navigation? Nope. Satellite Radio? Check elsewhere. 4yr/50K mile warranty? You have to settle for 3yr/36K.

  • Very happy 1st time Toyota buyer! - 2004 Toyota Sequoia

This is my very first "foreign" vehicle and I truly love it! The ride is out of this world, the ride is what sold us. We test drove many mid-sized SUVs and for just a little more money than the higher end mid-sized SUV, you get alot more room and alot nicer ride in the Sequoia. Weve had it less than a year and we are very happy with it!

  • Comfortable & soft bounce - 2004 Toyota Sequoia

Pricy but sooo comfortable & could hardly feel bumps on rough roads. Slight press on gas pedal & has a quick pick up. I think overall, Toyota has a higher reliability than most cars.

  • Nice Large SUV - 2004 Toyota Sequoia

UPDATE 12/2016. Everything going along OK. Did have a damaged rear hatch when I tried to close it and didnt see a suitcase handle sticking up. Misaligned the door/hatch pretty badly - so much so that replacing the hinges did not work. Had to get a used hatch, hinges, etc, plus the paint-job. $1,400 later it is still not exactly a perfect fit but does close. So be careful and be sure nothing is in the way (upper) when closing the hatch. Pulling a trailer full of furniture from hilly PA to NH it gets about 14 MPG. Nice, SAFE vehicle. Have owned nothing but Toyotas, from a 1979 Corolla to the 2003 Sequoia. Bought it to pull an enclosed trailer when needed. Wife fell in love with it. This Sequoia was part of the recall for the rusted frame/underbody. It also recently was recalled for the faulty passenger airbag. Put about 25K miles on it, and it did have an intermittent check-engine light on it - for evap issue i think. Usually got 15 MPG with it, 13 or so when pulling the trailer. As high as 21.5 on a recent trip that was mostly highway. Vehicle was rear-ended recently - probably a good thing we were driving this or could have had serious injuries. VERY solid SUV with good reliability.

I test drove every SUV on the market and the Sequoia won. It has the most to offer for the money. It has more power than most of its competitors. It has tons of space. I think my hsband loves it more than I do.

  • Not all Toyotas are created equal - 2004 Toyota Sequoia
    By -

Purchased new Sequoia 8/04.Check engine light came on at 22 miles. The wheels started vibrating since day one. Dealer in another town changed all tires, aligned and tested the vehicle. It still has the vibration.Wonder if the manufacturer made a lemon? Already made four different visits to the dealerships.Still trying to solve the persistant problem.Anyone has any sugestions? Toyota seems to be ignoring this problem.

  • Awesome ride! - 2004 Toyota Sequoia

Awesome vehicle. Lousy gas mileage but a sacrifice for comfort and power. Great pick-up and braking. Superb sound system. Great ride w/ firm suspension. 10 speakers and 10 cup holders. PARTY!! $42,000 and Toyota still makes you buy the floor mats.
