- Steers and handles like a car, thoughtful cabin design, exemplary build and materials quality, ABS and stability control standard, refined and fuel-efficient engine.
- Somewhat cramped interior, high repair costs in low-speed rear collisions, not much off-road ability.

3 yr. review on 05 Rav4 - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By harshad - March 26 - 6:53 pmI just had third birthday for my 05 Rav4. With new Michelin LTX tires this car drives well in Minnesota. So far no issues. I am still getting 26 to 27 MPG in mixed driving. I have got 34000 trouble free miles. I like this body style than the new one. Its much slicker and compact.

my review - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By enelrad - March 21 - 10:00 amI really love my car. I really havent found anything that i dont like about it. they have put everything in there and in the right places. when pulling a small motorcycle camper behind it, we get surprisingly great gas mileage too.

Excellent choice for multiple purposes - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By KStrassell - March 21 - 10:00 amI love my Rav 4. Mileage is fantastic, well within advertised range. More power than you would expect from a 4 cylinder; excelerates well when you need to "punch it". Beats the heck out of driving my Tacoma; more practical for my circumstances with the adaptable uses: lug cargo AND people with room left over. I drive it; it doesnt feel like it is driving me. I feel safe with Toyota in general, but with this vehicle in particular. Excellent for those of us who are "vertically challenged."

Toyota RAV4 Evaluation - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By 4-door - February 12 - 9:13 pmThis is my Third Rav4 to lease and at no time did I ever have any trouble with any of the three vehicles. One problem I have had, since I am short, I have a blind spot on rt. hand side of rav4 and had to be very careful when moving to outside lane as I cannot see a car that is moving beside me about even with back door. I still love the rav4 and will continue to drive one as long as I drive. Avery reliable vehickle

Perfect SUV - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By Pat C. - November 17 - 1:50 pmThis is my 4th Toyota and its my favorite. The height of an SUV yet small enough to drive like a car really appealed to me. Has excellent handling, great gas mileage, and is just a pleasure to drive. Owned just for 7 months and already put 12000 miles on it - makes you want to travel! Lots of storage space between fold-down back seats and rear area.

excellent choice - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By colleen - July 31 - 11:30 pmHad my new Rav for one week, put 150 miles on it already. Im finding excuses to drive it! I opted for the manual transmission because of the 4cyl engine....feels like a sports car. Very responsive and it is very tight in the turns. Not what I expected from an suv. Being 5ft, it is a pleasure to be able to see out the front and sit up high, and when getting out, you dont fall out! Has all options except leather heated seats. Looking forward to putting 150thousand plus miles on it, and having it still be worth something.

Almost Perfect - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By TGIX - July 31 - 2:06 amI am crazy about my Rav4! In well over a million miles of driving over the past 30 yrs, & that includes a lot of varied vehicle types, the Rav4 is my absolute favorite. Design is tops (I get stopped/asked about it an avg. of once every few weeks, twice in the past 4 days). Love its exceptionally high safety ratings. No car Ive driven before gets ABOVE the rated miles per gallon as this one does! I average 30 mpg or better of city and highway combined! Got 33 mpg going up and down steep mountain roads with two kayaks on top! Never get less than 27 mpg!

Best Value - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By bob - February 27 - 5:06 amThis is the best value for the dollar of any car I have ever purchased. It is the first 4 wheel drive I have ever owned. It compares much better in every way to the old Army M151 I used to drive, and handles like a tall "car". This is more like a modern day station wagon!! Cargo handles in the rear even hold your plastic grocery bags..

Bring back the "smaller" rav - 2005 Toyota RAV4
By don - February 4 - 2:06 amWe purchased this vehicle for all our short distance trips, ie. 300 miles or less (We are also fortunate to own an 06 highlander limited, for the longer trips). Love the RAV! Hate to see the "smaller" RAV go! It is LEXUS quality thru and thru. This is the 10th Toyota weve owned... not because of ANY problems...just really love our Toyotas! Also own a 1998 "L" model, with 100K miles which we will keep forever, as a third spare vehicle. Wouldnt hesitate to take the 98 to Florida or California (We live in OHIO) I highly suggest and recommend ANY toyota product, including the hybrids. Toyotas attention to detail and quality are second to none!
