I done a lot of research for about 2 months before I purchased a Toyota Highlander. My Chevrolet Trailblazer was wrecked. I decided to go with the Highlander after good remarks on Edmunds.com. I wanted something roomy that got good gas mileage. Love the sunroof & JBL radio system. No one is more picky than I am & I highly recommend this vehicle. Exterior is not as sporty looking as my Trailblazer, but it works fine.

I get better gas mileage than the sticker shows. 23.3 mpg in town, 27.1 on the road. I only have 1900 miles on it.

Comfy to drive, no blind spots like other SUVs I have driven. Very easy to handle and slip control comes in handy in when turning around icy corners. I love the look and feel. Lots of room for rear passengers and for cargo.

I compared the HL with Jeep Liberty and Ford Escape. What sold me on the HL was the rear seat room, build quality, control layout, engine/transmission, and Toyotas reputation. I also like the rear hatch with the spare mounted below (versus the side-hinged door with gate- mounted spare on the Liberty). Mileage in the first 1000 miles is 17- 18 city, 21-23 highway.

This is by far the BEST car/SUV I have ever had. And, my husband gets new cars almost every year. This one is going to STAY. I have severe back problems, the back support in both driver and passenger are superb. I have little pain while either driving or riding. Every option: 6 disc changer, DVD w/headphones, sunroof, 3rd row seats, GPS, all are wonderful. I have NO complaints. This is a keeper. Thank you Toyota!!

Smooth ride and surprisingly good acceleration with the 4 cyl. Averaging over 25 mpg in mixed highway / city driving. Very happy so far.

  • Love the ride - 2006 Toyota Highlander

After driving a toyota pickup for many years, my last one being 04 four door prerunner, I decided I needed a vehicle that was like an suv but not that big and good on gas. Tada, the sport highlander caught my eye. After doing research and a test drive in the 3.3 6 cyl I was sold. The comfort, roominess and power are incredible. But the first thing I did was change out the factory goodyears 225/65r17 with michelin cross terrain 245s and the ride got even better. Highly recommend. Happy Highlander Owner.

Excellent vehicle. Love the nav, leather seats, climate control, sunroof, nothing but good things to say. Gas mileage could be better, average 23-25 highway, about 20 around town.

  • Smooth riding SUV - 2006 Toyota Highlander

Had my Highlander for about a month and have not been disappointed. Rides almost as smooth as my Acura. Engine shifts effortlessly, very quiet, rides as if you are in a luxury car with SUV capabilities. Great engineering with amazing handling. Owned 3 other SUVs with none of them either close in design or quality.

  • The best car yet! - 2006 Toyota Highlander
    By -

The Highlander has the "get up and go" I need for the mountain roads. The interior is "homey" and comfortable. With a quiet engine, you feel as if you are floating on the road. Traction is great!! Safety features that outweigh anything else I have owned!! A prevous owner of like vehicles, the Highlander is by far the best SUV I have owned.
