Overview & Reviews
A Sport trim level debuts and revised SAE testing procedures have resulted in reductions in the stated horsepower and torque ratings, though actual output is unchanged.
- Rides and handles like a Camry, smooth V6 engine, fuel-efficient four-cylinder, lots of standard safety features, high crash-test scores.
- Poor access to optional third-row seat, bland personality.

Great SUV - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By Jay in NC - November 8 - 9:00 amThis is a great driving SUV! It has a quiet ride on the highway, and it has all the creature comforts I need. The center console is easy to manage. It offers plenty of room for 5 passengers and the rear storage space is more than ample. I was pleasantly suprised by the acceleration of the 4 cylinder engine. I am very pleased with my Highlander.

Still love it 3 yrs later! - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By toyotalover - August 6 - 4:23 pmAlways wanted a Toyota and I love driving it now as much as I did at first. Always dependable, no problems whatsoever. I like the tight steering, low turning radius... drives like a car. Easy to handle, even when loaded with weight. 4 cyl. is plenty of power for me. Big enough for my 62 stocky husband. I get about 20-22 MPG mixed city/hwy driving... wish it was more, but hey, I cant complain. I love this vehicle.

2006 Highlander Limited - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By MDellapenn - July 9 - 4:06 amI love my Highlander Limited, it is a pleasure to drive and easy to handle. The only thing I do not like is the fact it has no trim on the exterior, nothing to break the color up. The comfort on the inside is like driving your living room recliner around. It is great and I love my Highlander.

Quiet Ride - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By Sue - May 23 - 5:40 amThis is the best car I have purchased. It is a quiet and smooth ride. Plenty of room inside and adults in the back seat are comfortable. Previous SUV I owned the back seat was flat and uncomfortable for adults. Gas mileage is good compared to other SUVs. Would highly recommend this SUV.

Best car I have ever owned - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By Nicolas - January 26 - 12:26 amThis is absolutely an excellent vehicle, I have the base 4cyl. AWD model. with only privacy glass daytime running lights, mudguards, and the TO option which is a larger alternator and radiator. This is an excellent performing vehicle and I have not had to do anything at all in over two years of ownership except change the oil and wiper blades. It is really quite economical. I had one very small problem and that was a slight squeak in front near the air intake and that was fixed very much to my satisfaction by the dealer. As I have said this is a very well built vehicle good quality and craftsmanship. I do not like the size as well of the style of the new Highlander, mine is the best.

Highlander is high on quality - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By Bill D - January 6 - 11:43 amI had my Highlander 7 months and I still love it. We went on a long trip and averaged 28 mpg on open highway. This vehicle can tow a light trailer just as well as my Jeep Grand Cherokee LTD. This vehicle will last me a very long time.

My Sport - 2006 Toyota Highlander
By Jennifer Walthall - March 25 - 5:43 amLove it! Drives like a Camry and just as quiet, luxurious and comfortable too. Handles well in all situations. Just all-around great performance! Stereo, air conditioning and heating are incredible in sound and performance. Everything its cracked up to be.
